2022 Jeep Cherokee Overview

Powerful turbocharged and V6 motor options will make the 2022 Cherokee one of the most sought-after vehicles in its market this year. Even if you opt for a turbocharged four-cylinder or a V6 engine, the Cherokee’s suspension is capable of handling our road imperfections. For off-roading in this segment, the Cherokee is a hard one to top.

In a crowded small SUV market, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee certainly stands out from the pack. The Cherokee’s rugged aspect will appeal to adventurers, while city dwellers may appreciate its peaceful temperament.

A lot of previously optional amenities are now included in the Cherokee’s compact sedans as standard this year. Comfort and convenience amenities are now standard, as well as more advanced driver assistance. The 80th Legacy Edition but the all (and we believe permanent) Polar Lux equipment level are also included this year.

Although the new Cherokee has various drawbacks, one of the most notable is the lack of power from the standard engine. Rivals’ engines can outperform here. In terms of freight capacity, they also outperform. Although the Jeep Cherokee has 24.6 cubic feet of cargo space, its competitors and its twin sister, the Grand Cherokee, provide far more cubic feet (the Grand Cherokee has even been known to steal’ purchasers from the Cherokee).

Could the Jeep Cherokee be a good fit for you? Observe the Cherokee’s appearance and trim options; see how it performs in a test drive; and learn about its fuel economy.

New Latitude Lux grade levels and a limited-edition 80th Anniversary Edition are certain to draw a huge amount of attention towards the Cherokee. Both the Latitude Lux and the 80th Updated Version have special exterior highlights and design characteristics that can only be found on the Latitude Lux. Additionally, the front seat passenger has power adjustability and leather upholstery is standard. But I’ll get to that in a second.

There are a few formerly optional options that are now included on more trim levels.  Driver assistance like blind spot detection are included even in the Latitude’s entry-level model.

The Jeep Cherokee is only available as just a small compact SUV in the 2022 model year.

The Latitude, Latitude Lux, Latitude Plus, Trailhawk, among Limited trims of a 2022 Jeep Cherokee are all available. Eightieth Anniversary Edition, High Altitude, and Altitude, each of which have their own sub-trims, and a number of packages.

There’s a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine in the Latitude’s base model that generates 180 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. This comes with a speeded up automatic transmission as an option. Roof rails, rain-sensing lights, and 17-inch aluminum wheels adorn the vehicle’s appearance. Selec-Terrain control on 4×4 variants, a 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker sound system, smartphone app connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 60/40-split folding rear seats are all standard features on the inside.

The Latitude Plus, on the other hand, adds a de-icer and for windshield wiper, fog lamps, keyless entry and distant start, heating on the front seats, a leather steering wheel swathed in lambskin, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, electricity adjustability just on driver’s seat, two back USB ports, but also rear automatic braking.

Putting leather upholstery but a power-adjustable passenger seat to the Latitude Lux makes it even more luxurious. You have a choice of two engines: a 3.2-liter V6 with 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque, or a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder.

Only the V6 is offered in the Trailhawk, which is geared toward off-road use. The Jeep Dynamic Drive system has rock mode and a locking rear axle in addition to the 8.8-inch touchscreen.

If you want a V6 or a turbo 4-cylinder, you can have the top-of-the-line Limited. 18-inch wheels and a hydraulic liftgate are standard features. Automatic climate control with two separate zones, memory preferences for the driver’s seat and mirror, a premium sound system with nine speakers, a more advanced infotainment system, lane departure warning and a panoramic sunroof are all included as standard features.

It is true that the Jeep Cherokee 2022 is a sporty off-roader. The steering is tight and has a good weight to it, so the driver gets a sense of the road while they are turning the wheel. The turbo 4-cylinder outperforms the V6 in terms of acceleration, but only when mated with the slow 9-speed transmission.

The vehicle’s off-roading abilities are above ordinary, and even the braking are simple to regulate in any given circumstance. There is a nice amount of pressure in the pedal as you travel.

It’s the smoother undulations on some roads that provide an issue. However, the suspension doesn’t have the same level of refinement when it regards to the tiniest of bumps.

The Cherokee’s fuel economy is disappointingly low. When using the V6, it’s expected to obtain 22 mpg in the city, but also 27 mpg on the road. These lower-than-average numbers have been shown to be accurate in real-world testing. Using a turbo 4-cylinder engine should yield a greater fuel economy while still producing the same amount of power.

Despite its gruff appearance, the new 2022 Jeep Cherokee remains surprisingly comfortable to ride in. This vehicle’s optional turbo engine is both enjoyable to drive and a little bit more fuel-efficient. Then you can embark on a new journey with the addition of certain off-roading features.
