Lotus is honoring its Formula 1 legacy with the Emira Clark Edition, unveiled this past weekend at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The special edition is designed to honor Jim Clark’s legacy, featuring a green and yellow livery inspired by his legendary 1965 Lotus Type 38. It is built on the 3.5-liter V-6 variant of the Emira, with production restricted to only 60 units globally. There is a lot of disagreement in the racing world right now about which professional cars are the best all around. It’s now possible to talk about Fernando Alonso as the driver who is most likely to win the Triple Crown race. Then there’s Scott McLaughlin, who has won three Supercars events and seven IndyCar races. Max Verstappen was the three-time Formula One World Champion at the time. NASCAR driver Kyle Larson expressed confidence, stating that he is “certain” he is a more well-rounded driver than Verstappen. In the past, Jim Clark was the only option that made sense. Lotus clearly agrees, and the company is making a special Emira sports car to honor the late driver’s second Formula One title, which he won 60 years ago. Clark was the best driver in Formula One in 1965, winning six of the nine races he entered. How did the start of the tenth season unfold? Clark was determined to achieve his goal of securing a Lotus Type 38 at the Indianapolis 500. Alongside this, he also clinched the Formula 2 championship and the Tasman Series, which takes place simultaneously in both Australia and New Zealand. On weekends, he raced a Lotus Cortina, where he dominated the touring car races. Going back to that one-of-a-kind version, there are only 60 of them in the whole world. They are called the Clark version. This Type 38 Clark won the Indianapolis 500 in 1965. It looks a lot like the Clark Edition, which had green paint with a yellow racing stripe. To look like the real race car, the gas cap is blue-anodized, and the back of the car’s exhaust pipes are painted yellow. A hand-painted yellow line is the last thing that makes the outside stand out. Like the race car, the inside of the Emira is not symmetrical. The passenger seat is made of black leather and Alcantara, while the driver’s seat is made of red leather and Alcantara. The wooden gear knob pays homage to the Type 38, while the numbered door sills enhance its sense of rarity. The company hasn’t said how much the limited model will cost in the US yet, but at the current exchange rate, it will cost $152,651 in the UK. The current 25% import tax, which has caused Lotus to permanently ban the model from entering the United States, is not included in this amount.
