2024 Kia Telluride Overview

What’s new?

  • In 2024, everything will remain the same.
  • In 2020, the first version of Telluride will come out.

The Kia Telluride has become more popular since it became a medium SUV with three rows for the 2020 model year. It has a lot of comfort and space, and since then, Invoice Pricing has given it an award for being one of the best. Most cars gradually lose ground to newer models, which is no small feat. But every time a new company has tried to compete with Telluride, it has failed.

The Telluride got its most extensive makeover in its short history last year. It got a new look, stricter trim levels, and better driver assistance systems. Because of this, the 2024 Kia Telluride will not change much.

Think about a similar Hyundai Palisade as you decide what to buy. It’s based on many of the same ideas as the Kia but more posh. The brand-new Mazda CX-90 and the recently updated Honda Pilot are two more cars that could beat the Telluride. Even with these new competitors, we wouldn’t be surprised if Telluride stayed at the top of its class.

What do they like to live with?

Invoice Pricing added a 2020 Kia Telluride SX V6 AWD to its long-term test fleet to better understand what it would be like to own the car. The Telluride often showed why it was known as the best SUV in its class while it was with our team.

Pros

  • A comfortable ride and well-made seats will keep you relaxed all day.
  • Large families will like how much space there is inside.
  • Several important safety and technology tools that don’t cost much
  • Technologies that help drivers are helpful and easy to use.

Cons

  • Fewer places to put small things in the cabin than in other competition
  • At the fastest speed, there is a slight jolt.

What kind of drive does Telluride have? Driving the Telluride is a fun thing to do. Even though it doesn’t go very fast for a three-row SUV, the V6 engine is quick. In Invoice Pricing tests, it took our Telluride test car 7.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, which is about the same as the Honda Pilot and Hyundai Palisade. The Telluride can stop quickly because it has strong brakes. We usually stopped from 60 miles per hour in 123 feet, a little faster than the class average. For safe, smooth stops on the road, the brakes aren’t too hard to use.

At parking lot speeds, the turning is light, and it automatically gets heavier when you turn. The Telluride has a very stable turning radius and minimal body roll. We like how quietly and efficiently the engine’s stop-start function works to save gas. When you accelerate quickly, the upshifts can be abrupt, and the transmission can wander around on some hills, but these are minor problems.

Telluride is an excellent place to live. Telluride is a lovely place to stay. The headrests look like pillows, and the seats are comfy and beautifully made. Even when driving on the highway, the car is calm because not much noise from outside gets in. Even though there is engine noise, it never bothers or gets in the way. The Telluride’s ride is pretty good for a three-row SUV, though it can be rough on rough ground. The X-Pro is made to be used off-road, but it also does a great job on streets, making the ride more comfortable and protecting against potholes and road seams.

All three rows of seats have an easy-to-use way to change the temperature. Even though the heating and cooling features could be better on the market, it’s nice to know that both the front and back seats have them.

How does the inside look? The Telluride’s cabin is very roomy and feels high-end. All three rows are easy to get to. There is plenty of space in both the second and third rows. The room feels more prominent because it has a lot of big windows. Only the knee area of the front rider is a little tight.

The settings are set up well and have clear labels. Kia moved the touchscreen closer to the driver, so you don’t have to reach too far to use it. There are a lot of big windows, so the view is excellent. Sensors and cameras that help with parking are helpful extras.

How good is the tech? All Tellurides come with several systems that help prevent and avoid collisions and adaptive speed control that works until the car stops. USB ports are in all three rows, but only one can send data. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also built in to link to smartphones. Connectivity for wireless smartphones still needs to improve. The collection of gauges is next to a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system surrounded by a shell. It has an extensive display that is easy to see from the driver’s seat. This is true for all trim levels.

Also, SX versions and higher have a 12.3-inch display that matches the instrument cluster. The blind-spot view is more beneficial because the show in the instrument panel is bigger. The old collection, which was only 7 inches long, small, and full of tiny squares, gave the driver important information, but the new one is much clearer and works well with the blind-spot warning system. The Highway Driving Assist feature on a Kia is excellent. It keeps the Telluride in its lane so it doesn’t bounce from side to side as it speeds up or slows down.

What about putting things away? Lots of product space. When both rows are folded down, there are 87 cubic feet of space, and there are 21 cubic feet behind the third row. The entrance to the hatch is big and wide, and there is valuable storage under the door. The Telluride can pull 5,000 pounds, about the same as the class winners.

The inability to store small things is a flaw. Even though there are many ways to organise small things, there is much less room than in competitors for small personal items. Do you have little kids? Finding the car seat anchors and child safety seats to fit correctly is easy.

How well does it use gasoline? The EPA says that the combined fuel economy of the all-wheel-drive Telluride is 21 mpg (19 city/24 highway), which is a little below average. On our 115-mile mixed-driving route, our test Telluride got almost 23 mpg, which shows that the EPA’s predictions are accurate. The V6 can run on gasoline, while most competitors need premium fuel to get the speed and gas mileage they claim.

Is it worth going to Telluride? The Telluride may be the best deal for what you get in its class. The price increases because the car is more fun to drive, has a more excellent interior and has more fundamental and optional features. Also, the top finishings make it feel almost like an expensive item. Overall, we are delighted with how good the Telluride is. The great Kia engine warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles is also included.

Kia seems to have gone all out to give the Telluride a “baby Land Rover” feel, and it worked without making it look like a copy. The Telluride stands out from other cars because it is big, looks good, and is fun to drive. It’s a cheap luxury that’s done right.

As of this writing, Kia has not said anything about the 2024 Telluride. If anything changes, we will change our ranking, but based on Telluride from last year, the SX trim gets it. You also get a better sound system, safety features, and a digital gauge panel.

Kia Tellurides

Kia Telluride trims include LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. EX, SX, and SX Prestige have X-Line and X-Pro variants.
