• The wheelbase and length of the 2024 GMC Acadia have grown by 8.4 and 10.6 inches, making it more prominent than before.
  • The Acadia is more extensive, so the inside is roomier. This is helped by a new design that includes a standard 15.0-inch tablet in a vertical position.
  • The latest models have a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 328 horsepower and can pull 5,000 pounds with either front or all-wheel drive.

2024, the GMC Acadia will enter its third generation and become a bigger three-row mid-size SUV. The new Acadia is more prolonged, taller, and broader than its predecessor and looks more like a truck because it has a boxier body. This style is used by both new competitors and the company’s cousin, the Chevy Traverse, which just got a makeover.

Inside of the circle

Even in the high-end Denali model, the new Acadia’s internal materials don’t look or feel very rich, but the room is still fancier than it used to be. Since the big shift buttons have been moved to a column-mounted shifter, the center console and room underneath it now have more storage space.

The interior is dominated by a 15.0-inch touchscreen that is set up vertically and an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster that is well-made. The standard aspects of the Google-powered infotainment system are that it works and has apps. At the bottom of the center panel are fixed HVAC controls that use both toggle switches and touch screens.

Every Acadia has several features that help the driver, almost all of which are now standard. There are up to nine external camera views in addition to standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot tracking. There are other ways to tell who is walking or riding a bike. Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driving help system, is available on the 2017 Acadia. It is now available on the Elevation and AT4 trim levels for the first time.

The growth spiral at GMC

The Acadia has grown 10.6 inches and is now 204 inches long from bow to stern. The mid-size GMC Acadia is now a half-foot shorter than the full-size GMC Yukon. The full-size GMC Yukon has the same 120.9-inch wheelbase as the mid-size GMC Acadia. The result should be a bigger space that is better for everyone on board. The AT4 and Denali trims have captain’s chairs, which can only fit seven people. The Elevation trim, on the other hand, has a bench seat in the second row and can accommodate eight people.

Also, because the new Acadia is more extensive, it has more space for goods. GMC says there is over 80% more room behind the third row, and when the last row of seats folds down, there is 36% more space. Even though the company hasn’t said for sure, the new model will have about 23 cubic feet of space under the third row and nearly 56 cubic feet under the second row. A big storage box and spare tire are under the cargo floor.

An engine with four turbochargers

The Acadia used to come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter V-6. The V-6 engine made 310 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, while the four-cylinder machine made 228 hp and 258 lb. Every Acadia now comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is a lot more powerful. It has 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. GMC has yet to say how much gas the new Acadia engine will save.

The Acadia continues to provide front-wheel and all-wheel drives, but the nine-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with an eight-speed message. Either option has a maximum pulling capacity of 5,000 pounds, an increase of 1,000 to 1,700 pounds over the previous configuration. The AT4 variant, designed specifically for usage off-road, comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive system and a singular twin-clutch rear gear.

Although all Acadia models are already 3.4 inches taller than their predecessors, the AT4 is a fraction of an inch taller than the other Acadia variants. In addition, the AT4 is distinguished from the competition by its 18-inch wheels that are shod with all-terrain Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires and its suspension that has been calibrated to perfection. The most difficult Acadia has orange lights on the plastic over-fenders, red front tow hooks, and a lower front skid plate. Additionally, it has a lower front skid plate.

You won’t have any trouble locating the Acadia Denali. It sports a satin finish instead of chrome on the head, a lower body trim that is glossy black, and large wheels that measure 22 inches. In the past, wheels with a diameter of 20 inches were considered the most extensive available. The Acadia Denali’s interior features heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, laser-etched wood trim, and chrome accents. In addition, the front seats are covered with leather. The standard Bose audio system has 12 speakers, although higher-end models can have up to 16 speakers. The enormous panoramic sunroof and the heated seats in the second row are identical.

GMC has not yet disclosed the price of the 2024 Acadia, but it will do so before the beginning of the sales run for the vehicle in early 2020. If we were to speculate, the Elevation will be priced around $40,000, while the Denali will be priced around $50,000.
