• The first picture of Mini’s new SUV, the Countryman, has been shown to the public.
  • It will be available in the US for the 2025 model year, and production will start this year at a BMW plant in Germany.
  • We’ll have to wait and see if the gasoline and electric versions of the new Countryman come to the US.

We just discovered that Mini’s largest SUV, the Countryman SUV, will have an electric option in the next generation. Still, new photos of a disguised 2025 Countryman show that the new model will look like a Mini, which is unsurprising.

This year, a BMW plant in Leipzig, Germany, will start making the 2025 Mini Countryman. It will be the first Mini to be made in the home country of its parent company. It will be made at the same factory as other BMWs, especially the 2-series Gran Coupe. It is still being determined when it will come out and if the gas and electric versions will be sold in the United States.

It is anticipated that the electric Mini Countryman and the BMW iX1, an electric version of the crossover X1 unavailable in the United States, will have the exact specifications. A dual-motor drivetrain and a 64.7 kWh battery pack give that version a range of about 230 miles. The 2023 BMW X1 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The gas version will likely have the same machine, but the base, S, and JCW models may have different power levels.

A new Mini Cooper hatchback is also in the works, but we haven’t heard anything about it since photos of the new car’s release in 2021 were leaked. Keep an eye on this section for more Mini news as the company updates its cars, possibly replacing the Clubman wagon with the new Aceman EV.
