With the release of the new Defender in 2020, Land Rover turned the simple but capable workhorse into a sleek luxury car that combines off-road agility with a cozy personality that fits the suburban way of life. Still, the original Defender 90 has a special place in our hearts because of how simple it was and how much it could do. So, the newest Lego car went to the top of our list of things we wanted. In honor of Land Rover’s 75th birthday, Lego made a brand-new 2336-piece Defender kit.

The outdoor-themed Lego Defender 90 is sage green and can be built with a more street-friendly look before being outfitted with everything you need to take on a hard off-road track. Spare tires cover the Lego Defender’s hood and back door, and a snorkel sticks out to help the Land Rover cross rivers. The front bumper is intense and has a working winch and extra lights. The roof rack has room for jerrycans, traction boards, a jack, and a toolbox.

A fire extinguisher, an axe, a hammer, and a pickaxe are also on the Defender. Without the components, the set measures a compact 12.5 by 6 by 6 inches. It also works well when it comes to steering and suspension.

Lego says that two engine options can fit under the hood, and when you open the doors, you can see that the inside is well-made. Start putting away your allowance or paycheck because the Lego Defender will go on sale online in early April for $239.99.
