A Lot Of New Technology Has Been Added To The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder, And The Style Has Been Changed

Nissan’s fifth-generation Pathfinder will get a new look every four years. Nissan, on the other hand, is only making small changes to its mid-sized three-row SUV. The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder was shown off a few weeks before its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It has the same engine as the old one, but the inside and outside have been redesigned, and the electronics are more up to date.

The outside of the Pathfinder hasn’t changed much, but the design changes make it look more like new Nissan cars like the 2026 Sentra. The eye-catching U-shaped chrome border has been removed from the SUV’s new grille, which now extends to the inside edges of the headlamps (which haven’t changed), and three rectangular chrome pieces fall below. The lower bumper is slightly smoother, and a small black vent runs beneath the headlights, resembling a teardrop. This makes the Pathfinder even wider.

The badges on the outside are now finished in satin, but the back end is mostly the same. Nissan has changed the roof rails on the SL and Platinum trims from silver to black. The company has also added a new color called Baltic Teal. A new 20-inch wheel shape is also part of the Pathfinder Platinum.

The interior style hasn’t changed, but Nissan has upgraded the touchscreen from eight inches to a 12.3-inch model. The SL and Platinum grades now come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Because the new screen is bigger, the audio settings that were around the old screen can’t be reached. Nissan changed the space between the air vents below, making the hazards button smaller and creating room for a volume knob, tuning knobs, and the hazards button. Thankfully, these controls are no longer hidden on the screen. The writing “Pathfinder” is now also raised on the chrome strip below. The most luxurious Platinum model features new seat quilting and wood-tone accents.

Nissan has improved the Pathfinder’s wireless charger to deliver up to 15 watts of power. You can charge your phone faster and keep it cooler with a new cooling fan. Magnetic positioning also keeps compatible phones in place so they don’t move around while you sweep around the sides. The SV and Rock Creek do not come with a portable charger, but the SL and Premium do.

The surround-view camera system that comes standard on the Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum now has two more camera views. These include a front-facing camera that can see 180 degrees and a new “invisible hood view” that lets drivers see “through” the hood to place the front wheels better, whether they’re driving on gravel or in a car wash.

Under the hood, the 3.5-liter V-6 engine still makes 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. It comes matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s right, the Rock Creek comes with all-wheel drive, and all the other models do too. It still makes 11 hp and 11 lb-ft of torque more. The Rock Creek will get a new Premium package in 2026. It will have a 12-volt power outlet in the trunk, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof. Nissan hasn’t shared any pictures of the 2026 Pathfinder Rock Creek, so it’s unclear whether the all-terrain model’s look has changed.

The Pathfinder will be rebuilt and hit the roads in early 2026. We expect prices to go up a little over the 2025 model, which started at $38,040 for the S trim, $45,860 for the Rock Creek, and $51,010 for the top-of-the-line Platinum. Nissan hasn’t officially announced prices yet.
