• The very first Prospector XL Tray Bed was a conceptual build created for AEV’s president.
  • AEV is putting out a small number of the Tray Bed versions again.
  • There is a Cummins diesel engine and 40-inch HD Ram tires on the Prospector XL.

According to our account, the Land Rover Prospector XL from AEV is the diesel Power Wagon that Ram will not make. You can now get the Prospector XL, which AEV only makes in very small numbers and very rarely. The Prospector XL Tray Bed is a great piece of furniture.

AEV Revives Ram-Based Prospector XL Tray Bed For A Limited Production Run

The freight carrier on the XL Prospector Tray Bed is both its physical backbone and its spiritual heart. This aluminum part comes from the company aptly called Ute and has sides that drop down. The Cummins engine is on the back of a regular-cab Ram 2500. Regular Prospector XLs have four doors and a regular bed, but AEV can give you a two-door chassis cab that you can use to connect any backpack you want.

AEV used to sell the XLPTB in small amounts. The first Tray Bed was a pet project and personal car for business president Dave Harriton. It was shown as an idea at the company’s SEMA booth in 2013. After putting out about 10 models in 2017, AEV is now putting out a few with the newest HD Ram.

The change costs a lot—$32,203—and will cost you at least $63K more than the donor Ram 2500. The package comes with the tray bed, the company’s 3-inch DualSport on-road/off-road suspension system, a custom back bumper, 40-inch BFGoodrich HD-Terrain tires on AEV Salta XD wheels, and an AEV front bumper with 20k ComeUp winch built in. After all was said and done, the truck could carry almost anything and go almost anywhere.

The company AEV says that it will only make a small number of Tray Bed Rams this time. You should always have a lot on hand because you never know when or if they will be sold again.
