• Genesis presented its idea for the GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
  • Putting snowmobile tracks on the SUV’s standard tires improves grip and ground clearance for this crazy GV60 idea.
  • There is also a special roof rack with a light bar and many emergency supplies built right in.

In the last week, snowstorms have hit both places that usually get snow, like Michigan, and places that usually get warmer, like Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. With its newest model, the GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle, Genesis went one step further in getting it ready for snow, even though it needs strong winter tires for that kind of weather. The idea was shown at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It is based on Genesis’ small electric luxury SUV, the GV60, but the tires have been replaced with strong snowmobile tracks.

Genesis Makes The GV60 EV Into A Snowmobile So That It Can Be Used For Mountain Rescues

Genesis says the design was made with all-terrain rescue tasks in mind, and the orange stripes on the livery make it look like it belongs. The tracks that look like tanks are the most obvious change. They give the GV60 more ground clearance, a badass attitude, and a better grip on muddy surfaces. The rails are farther away from the body than the wheels on a regular car, and carbon fiber fender flares are on top of them.

For extra gear, there is a second rack over the rear window and a custom roof rack with a built-in light bar. Genesis says it comes with medical supplies, a system for calling for help in an emergency, and two sports seats. The MIV concept has a vehicle-to-load system that uses the battery to power extra equipment. This is because the GV60 is an electric car.

Genesis already showed off an idea with a winter theme at the Davos event. The car company showed off the X Snow Speedium idea last year. It was a modified version of its sporty X Speedium Coupe that had an extra fog light and a ski rack on the roof. The crazy snow-tracked version of the luxury EV SUV won’t be in dealer showrooms, but the GV60 MIV is a more extreme form of the same thing and a great example of Genesis’ creativity and skill.
