The Genesis X Gran Equator is their newest concept car. It’s an SUV that’s great for exploring. The beautiful concept car made its appearance at the 2025 New York Auto Show. A production model has yet to be confirmed; however, we believe Genesis should approve this off-roader, as it might also serve as a preview of the next-generation GV80. The Genesis X Gran Equator concept SUV is showing off its more rugged side at the New York car show. This comes after the successful debut of two slimline two-door models at the Seoul Mobility Show earlier this month. The X Gran Equator appears less prepared for production compared to the Gran Coupe and Convertible show cars. The car’s size is shown off by its tall hood and large gap between the dashboard and the axle. The X Gran Equator looks like it has two doors because the back window slopes sharply down, and the rear door handles are hidden. The SUV looks rounded thanks to its simple head and two long strips of LED lights that go around its front and sides. The lack of a grille on the front of the X Gran Equator makes us think it is an electric vehicle, but Genesis has not stated this. All-wheel drive will be normal, and it might even come with torque-vectoring technology to make it better off-road. Also, these all-terrain tires from a well-known tire company have a unique tread design, and no sidewall markings can be seen. This makes them look like concepts in and of themselves. This concept car only has four seats, and the center screen is not normal. On the other hand, the X Gran Equator has an analog form that is updated in a modern way. Four more round screens are built into the dashboard to show fun, settings, and important off-road driving data. Three more round screens are hidden under the steering wheel and are used as gauges. The X Gran Equator has a four-panel sunroof on top of its roof, with separate spaces for each person inside. The light blue and beige color scheme inside the idea is striking, and the whole interior design mixes high-end furniture with long-lasting parts. The high-end brand says that the X Gran Equator “signals Genesis’s continued expansion into lifestyle-oriented vehicles,” which suggests that a production model is on the way. Genesis’ official statement says that the concept’s parts show how the brand will be created in the future, but production has not been confirmed. We’ll have to wait and see if Genesis is working on an off-road SUV, but the X Gran Equator will come out because people want luxury SUVs with an active look. Seeing the X Gran Equator up close makes us think we might be getting an early look at the GV80.
