• Cadillac has changed the way the outside of all of its CT5 models, including the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, so they now look like regular sedans.

Cadillac is switching to electric cars, and soon the Escalade iQ, which is bigger and more powerful, the Vistiq, which has three rows of seats, and the Optiq, which is smaller, will join the Lyriq besides the high-end Celestiq car, which costs around $340,000. Fear not; the turbocharged V-8 and the fiery CT5-V Blackwing have more in store. Cadillac has released new versions of the Blackwing and the CT5-V with a V-6 engine. These versions will be the same as the rest of the 2025 CT5 lineup.

CT5-Vs were improved

No changes have been made to the mechanics of any model. You can still get the 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine that powers the CT5-V. It has a 10-speed automatic transmission that sends 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque to the back wheels. All-wheel drive is still an option. This bike still has the 6.2-liter V-8 blower that gives it 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Luckily, you can still get an automatic transmission along with a six-speed manual gearbox. Their brakes, chassis, and tires are all the same.

The design is the most obvious change. Both V-branded cars have meaner front ends that look a lot like the 2025 CT5 standard. New headlamps with a bigger grille and a more blocky look are some of the changes. The front bumper of the CT5-V is more aggressive than the regular CT5, and it has a splitter built-in. The mesh grille is blacked out.

The CT5-V Blackwing can now be told apart from the V-6-powered model because of an extra trim piece that connects the lower air intake to the inside corner of the headlights. The Blackwing has a front splitter and a back wing that are more aggressive. For the V-8 version, you can also get carbon-fiber structural upgrades that make it look better and increase downforce. Cadillac says that all of the car’s aerodynamic performance has been kept or even improved. Along with the new colors Deep Space metallic and Typhoon metallic for the whole CT5 family, the V models now come in light blue called Drift metallic.

It’s a wonderful new show

The 33-inch LED screen that was added to CT5 models that were not V in 2025 is now built into the inside. The headlights and taillights play an animated pattern that is visually interesting as the driver gets closer to the car. On the back of the screen, there is a lit-up picture of the Cadillac crest. The physical climate settings that are under the screen have been changed in some ways.

Cadillac also made the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) better. The Blackwing now comes standard, and the CT5-V is available. With the new “Lap Analyzer” tool in the PDR, data analysis can now be done directly on the screen without the need for a laptop-based program. Along with the new layout and visuals, this tool is also available. The built-in cameras record instantly like a dashboard camera, so drivers don’t have to take out the SD card to watch videos or make their personalized reference laps. A tool called “Speed Tips” tells coaches where a lap could be cut down.

There is a live info display in the middle screen that the coach sitting in the passenger seat is supposed to use. This screen shows the position of the brakes, the friction circle, and the lap times. The head-up display shows data about the lap times for the driver. Gauges for tire temperature and g-forces are also on the main panel. Power, torque, and boost are also shown in real-time.

Google apps like Assistant and Maps are already on the entertainment systems of the V versions, just like they are on the basic CT5. As of now, all CT5-V and Blackwing models with automatic transmission come with GM’s hands-free driving aid system, Super Cruise. You can’t enjoy Super Cruise with a manual transmission.

Cadillac thinks that their customers have been able to make better decisions because they have limited the number of choices for both models. The CT5 had a good year in 2023, with sales going up 17%. Cadillac also said that the V and Blackwing models had high sales. The production of the two sporty CT5s will begin this summer. Prices will be revealed later.
