In 2026, Toyota will be the team’s main title sponsor for Formula One. It’s not clear whether this is a mistake, but it could be interpreted as saying that Toyota is sponsoring the team rather than the team itself being sponsored. For the 2026 season, Toyota will take over as the team’s digital payment provider instead of MoneyGram, and the team will be officially called the TGR Haas F1 Team. In addition to being the title sponsor, Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s motorsport business, will continue working with Haas on technical matters. This relationship started last October. Toyota is giving more money and resources to its many racing projects. For the 2026 season, MoneyGram will no longer be the Haas Formula 1 team’s main title sponsor; instead, it will be the brand’s Gazoo Racing. The team will officially be called the TGR Haas F1 Team in the 2026 season. It wasn’t a surprise that they decided to be the team’s title sponsor. The Japanese carmaker and Haas recently strengthened their relationship by collaborating on technology last October. Ayao Komatsu, the head of the Haas team, said, “It’s obviously an honor to strengthen our relationship with TGR through this new title partnership agreement.” Komatsu told me, “We’ve gotten along well since we started working together.” Our TPC [Testing of Previous Car] events this season have shown that a lot has been going on behind the scenes, like building and installing the simulator at our Banbury site for 2026. It’s unclear whether Toyota will affect the Haas drivers. Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman have already been announced for the 2026 season, but Toyota might want to add drivers from its own pipeline to the team at some point. Haas will unveil its 2026 livery on January 23 as part of its partnership with Toyota. This will happen before the private test day in Barcelona on January 26.
