Mazda Hints At An Idea That Hasn't Been Named Yet. It Could Be A Coupe Or A Car

Concept cars are sometimes very close copies of cars that will be sold in the future. Sometimes, they’re just a way for a company to discuss certain aspects of its future design language. Mazda has already given hints about its newest concept car before the 2025 Tokyo auto show. We might want the first option, but it’s more likely to happen with the second.

Mazda says that its newest concept car, the “Vision Model,” showcases the company’s theme for the show and reveals what the brand envisions for its future cars. The tagline for the idea, “The joy of driving fuels a sustainable tomorrow,” might be referring to the electric drivetrain.

The trailer doesn’t say much on its own. It has a roofline that slopes gently down to a windshield that slopes strongly down. We can see that the idea has four doors, though, by making the picture provided by Mazda much brighter. It is also possible to see the shapes of the front seats, but the car’s length cannot be determined from the picture.

Since Mazda has placed a strong emphasis on environmental friendliness for the display, the Vision Model may be powered by electricity. This doesn’t mean, though, that it has to be a completely electric car. Instead, it could utilize parts from Mazda’s Iconic SP concept, which featured electric motors and a twin-rotor rotary engine designed to extend the range.

In the past few years, Mazda has showcased rotary-powered concept cars, such as the 2015 RX-Vision, although none of them have been produced for sale. Regardless of the engine it has, the entire new concept will be unveiled at the Tokyo car show on October 29.
