In June 2023, MG Motor India said that store sales were 14% higher than the same month the year before. Last month, the company sold 5,125 cars. In June 2022, the company sold 4,504 units in stores. “After cyclone Biparjoy, supplies were messed up,” claimed MG Motor India. After the monsoon, India’s extended holiday season could boost client demand. The company said sales grew by 40% in the second quarter of 2023, from 10,519 units to 14,682 units. This is up from last year when sales were 10,519 units. A partnership between MG Motor India and Jio Platforms was announced earlier this week. This means the new MG Comet EV, which was just shown off, will have connected car features. Jio’s Digital Assets will power MG Comet EV’s Hinglish Voice Assistant technology. The system includes hardware, a networking site, music, and payment apps. The Hello Jio Voice Assistant, which has been taught to understand different regional accents and the tone of an Indian user, has been built into the MG Comet EV, the car’s maker says. The helper can tell you about cricket, the weather, the news, your horoscope, and other things through dialog support. People who own an MG Comet EV can also ask the helper to play music, check the cricket score, or turn the air conditioning on or off. MG Motor India says that the Jio eSIM is also built into the Comet EV and is vital to making the car safer. Jio’s eSIM can also recognize the car and encrypt texts even when moving. The MG Comet EV goes against electric hatchbacks like the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3. The car is less than three meters long, is 1.640 millimeters tall, and is 1.505 millimeters wide. The car has steel wheels that are 12 inches in diameter. MG says that the Comet EV’s 17.3 kWh battery pack gives it a range of 230 km. The car has three ways to drive: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
