The 2026 Nissan Frontier pickup will be better at going off-road thanks to a new partnership with Roush Performance. An Öhlins off-road suspension system and a 2.0-inch lift kit are built into the new PRO-4X R mid-size truck. Unlike typical dealer-installed accessories, PRO-4X R components must be purchased directly from Roush. Nissan is working with third-party partners to create a more capable off-road strategy for the 2026 Frontier midsize pickup. Nissan and Roush Performance collaborated to enhance the Frontier’s straightforward approach. The relationship led to the PRO-4X R, which is a Roush version of the Frontier’s PRO-4X trim. The PRO-4X R’s performance is mostly better thanks to its Öhlins 2.0-inch suspension lift and springs. Hlin and Roush collaborated on designing the Frontier. Their bodies are made of aluminum, and rear cooling fins and external gas reservoirs keep them from getting too hot when going very fast. The front grille inserts, lower fascia, and skid plate of the Roush Frontier are all painted titanium. There are also Roush “R” badges on the trunk, fenders, and grille. Titanium is used to finish the 17-inch wheels, as well as the black lug nuts and “R” logos on the center caps. The Roush name is sewn into the headrests of the front seats. Roush is the exclusive provider of PRO-4X parts for the Frontier, setting them apart from the typical accessories offered through dealerships. With the kit, the Roush Frontier costs $47,960, which is $4,395 more than the PRO-4X trim. The 2026 Frontier is scheduled to arrive in dealerships later this summer, with Roush editions to be released afterward.
