A Japanese Nostalgic car says that the Nissan Z will come with a split grille for the Japanese market. The story says that the different front end will be an option that a dealer in Japan can install, but Nissan has refused to confirm any of the details. The split grille on the Fairlady Z Customized Prototype was first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2022. At the very least, the Japanese Nissan Z may get a new nose. According to a report from Japanese Nostalgic Car that came out yesterday, the different front-end treatment will become an option that can be put on by the dealer in Japan sometime this year. The automaker first showed a split-grille design on a custom Fairlady Z prototype at the Tokyo auto show in 2022. This could be great news, depending on how you feel about Z’s typical nose. It gives the Z’s face more defined features than the gaping front of the current car. But the split-grille option may only be available in Japan, no matter what Americans think. A member of Nissan’s North American team said that the company had yet to make official announcements about whether or not the alternative grille will be made in Japan. This could mean that the American Z could get a new nose, but we’ll have to wait and see. Americans who are unhappy with the Z’s stock grille or how it drives still have a chance.
