Following the debut of the one-off Polestar 2 Arctic Circle in 2022, the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 receive a similar rally-inspired design. Both electric SUVs feature specialized suspensions, studded tires, and front spotlights. Similar to the snow-shredding special-edition 2, the Polestar 3 and 4 Arctic Circle models are unique showpieces rather than production vehicles. The Swedish electric car company wants to attract your attention with two new versions of its 3 and 4 SUVs based on rally cars. However, it might be hard to picture the Polestar power sliding in a snowdrift at your local business park. Polestar has already said that they like the Scandinavian look better. It gave the high-riding Polestar 2 hatchback the Arctic Circle treatment in 2022. This meant that it had special tires with spikes, a higher ride height, rally lights, and other changes that would work better on icy roads. Polestar now has the 3 and 4 dressed in the same way, which makes its Arctic Circle line even bigger. The two new Arctic Circle models will only be made as one-of-a-kind, which is bad news for people who want to play like Stig Blomqvist. The smaller 2’s recipe is a lot like the Arctic Circle recipes for the Polestar 3 and 4. The Performance package comes with the best long-range dual-motor trim choices for both cars. The 3 has 510 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque, while the 4 has 536 horsepower and 506 pound-feet of torque. Both cars have special Öhlins changeable dampers that can handle the bumps and holes that come with driving on frozen lakes. The 4 has an extra 0.8 inches of ground clearance, and the 3 has an extra 1.6 inches of ride height. Both cars should have great traction on the specially studded 295/40R-20 Pirelli Scorpion tires. If you don’t use the 4 Arctic Circle’s hydraulic hand brake, which is made for sliding, you can enjoy the thrill. Both of the new Arctic Circle cars look the part thanks to their unique 19-inch OZ Racing wheels, gold tow hooks, Stedi Quad Pro LED front lights and mud flaps. Along with the shared goods, Polestar sent each model their own kit. The 3 Arctic Circle is designed to be useful. It has a special roof basket that can hold a spare tire with spikes, snow ladders, a shovel, and an extra roof light bar. The 4 Arctic Circle’s windowless rear hatch is meant to be fun, and it has all-terrain skis on it. During the next F.A.T. Ice Race in Austria on February 1, Polestar plans to show off its performance DNA. That’s when it will debut its newly expanded Arctic Circle lineup. It’s a shame that the 3 and 4 Arctic Circles won’t be made, even though most people can’t use them all year. They look much better kicking up snow than their regular versions do in a Whole Foods parking lot.
