The Porsche 911 GT3 RS, fitted with a Manthey Racing kit, produces more than 2,204 pounds of downforce at 177 mph. The kit updated the rear wing by adding a new shark fin feature, as well as redesigning the front spoiler and rear diffuser. Because of the more downforce, the brakes have been strengthened, and the spring rates have been changed. When it came to wings, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS already had some of the biggest aftermarket wings. On the other hand, the new Manthey Racing suit makes the track toy even more agile. It gets better: the original warranty will still apply, and you can buy the kit at Porsche dealerships. A Wealth of Aerodynamics With the split carbon-fiber DRS wing section and wider, revised end plates to increase rear downforce, that huge rear wing has been greatly improved. The shark fin, constructed from carbon fiber, is mounted on a panel that is 25% lighter than the rear window it replaces. Rumor has it that the Porsche 963, which competes in the WEC and IMSA endurance racing series, affected the shark fin, which makes the car more stable when turning. Six other roof fins, including the shark fin, help move warm air from the front radiator over the roof away from the engine, ensuring that the engine’s intake draws in cooler air. The Manthey package’s rear diffuser features larger and wider carbon-fiber fins, enhancing downforce while maintaining minimal air resistance. The new front profile of the spoiler lip has reworked Gurney flaps on the wheel arches and carbon-fiber reinforcement parts. These modifications, along with the two dive planes positioned ahead of the wheels, increase downforce on the front axle. They also put in “aerobic” carbon fiber wheel covers to cut down on drag. A Comprehensive Track Package Manthey says the kit allows the 911 GT3 RS to produce more than 2204 pounds of downforce at 177 mph. To achieve that huge amount, Manthey raised the semi-active coil-over suspension’s spring rates by 15% on the back axle and 30% on the front axle. Additionally, Manthey added a new control unit and four-wheel and three-body acceleration sensors to improve the automatic damper setting. The compression and rebound valves in the new dampers are separate and can be controlled individually. Normal, Sport, and Track are the three driving modes that change how the damper works. Track mode lets you make more precise manual tweaks. Also, steel-sheathed brake lines have been added to the brakes, which the company says improves reaction time and makes the pedal feel more direct. As an option, cars with the ceramic composite brake package can also get racing brake pads. These pads are made to work well across a wide temperature range while lowering fade. As an extra, the Manthey Racing package comes with lit carbon-fiber door sills that say “Manthey” in red and white letters. This is for people who want to show off their new car. Manthey door stickers, wheel cover labels, and LED door projector lights can also be bought. A tow eye can be put on either the front or the back for track drive. The Manthey Racing kit will be available for sale outside Europe beginning in March 2025. At today’s exchange rates, the kit will cost $79,973, which does not include the cost of having it installed at a Porsche shop.
