Porsche made the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition to honor the first 24 Hours of Le Mans race, which took place 100 years ago. The red seat belts and gold wheels come from the 1998 Porsche GT1, while the silver paint and race number 46 come from the 1951 Porsche 356 SL. The Centenaire Edition is only sold in France, and it needs to be clarified how many one-of-a-kind 911s will be made. As of 2023, 100 times have been run in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 100th anniversary of the famous race drew a record number of people, and the fights between the GTE cars and the new Hypercar class were exciting to watch. Porsche made a limited-edition model called the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition to celebrate. It was based on the 356 SL and 911 GT1, both of which won the Le Mans race. This trendy limited version will only be sold in France, which is a shame. The Centenaire Edition is based on the 911 GTS and is powered by a 3.0 liter, six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers in the back. You can choose between an automatic PDK transmission with eight speeds or a manual transmission with seven. The fact that the name doesn’t have a “4” in it says that all-wheel drive won’t be an option for the special edition. All 420 pound-feet of torque will be sent to the back wheels. 1951 356 SL won its class and greatly inspired the color scheme. It was painted Le Mans Silver Metallic and had a roundel with the number 46 on the door. The inside of the bucket chairs is made of Graphite Blue leather and corduroy, just like the 356 SL. The steering wheel is covered in the same blue leather as the seats and has a Cayon 12-hour marker that matches the dial details, SportChrono clock, and stitching. The red seats are a tribute to the 1998 winner of the overall race, the Porsche 911 GT1. On the inside, the center armrest has an image of the Circuit de la Sarthe, and the headrest has the word “24h” written on it. The wheels, which are finished in Aurum gold and have a Le Mans Silver Metallic ring around the outside, are also based on the GT1. The Centenaire Edition also has a sticker on the tiny side windows in the back that looks like the louvers on the ’98 GT1. The unique 911 also has markings that make it stand out, like one on the rear grille that says “24h Le Mans” surrounded by a laurel wreath and the Porsche name. The words “Born in Le Mans, Manufactured in Zuffenhausen ” are stickers on the grille, and an outline of a French national track is an emblem on the B-pillar. The trims on the doorsills show that this 911 is a one-of-a-kind model. Every Porsche comes with a key fob and a Graphite Blue car cover. Even though we have yet to determine the price or how many will be made, the Le Mans Centenaire Edition will likely cost much more than a regular GTS, which starts at $144,050 in the United States.
