Ram plans to make a “big” announcement on June 8, according to a post on social media. The caption of the Instagram video says, “Start your engines—Something big is coming on 06.08.25.” Earlier this year, it was announced that Ram is set to bring back the TRX with a V-8 engine, so its return may be subtly hinted at now. As per an Instagram post from the brand, Ram is getting ready to make a big announcement on June 8. There is a short video of Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis talking with Dave Sparks, who is better known as “Heavy D” from the TV show Diesel Brothers. They are standing next to a table with coffee and snacks when what looks like a jet fighter pilot walks up and takes a cookie from it. The pilot then makes a comment about Tim’s jacket and leaves. The post’s caption says, “Fire up the engines—Big things are on the horizon,” and it tries to explain what the different parts of the video are pointing to. 06.08.25. Everything Ram does is technically big, since they make commercial vans and full-size pickup trucks. The word “things” in the plural form could mean that Ram plans to make more than one announcement, but maybe we’re trying too hard to sound like Detective Benoit Blanc. Is something going to be said about diesel? Based on how Heavy D looks, it makes sense. Are we about to find out what Ram’s new mid-size pickup will be called? Yes, anything is possible. We think we will find out about the return of Hemi engines to the Ram 1500 lineup, including the V-8-powered TRX, even if neither of those things are shown. Why do we really want the TRX to come back? Along with a hunch, Ram was said to be bringing back the Hellcat-powered pickup earlier this year. This might be part of the “big” announcement on June 8 (though it hasn’t been confirmed yet). When it comes to the truck itself, Kuniskis has said that the next TRX will be stronger than the last one, which means it will have more than 702 horsepower. There may also be a return of the Redeye, the Hellcat V-8 with 797 horsepower.
