The new Toyota Grand Highlander 2024 is more extensive and has more space than the current Highlander. The 362-hp Hybrid Max powertrain is only available in the XL model. We have already written a lot about these topics. We have also discussed how the Grand differs from its younger brother or sister. If you want to know more about the Grand Highlander, here are some exciting and not-so-well-known facts.

A Different Highlander

Even though the regular Toyota Highlander is in its fourth generation, the Grand Highlander was the first model made by the Toyota brand. We were also told that a trim with an off-road theme could come out in the future.

“Beyond Zero” Badge

You probably already know that Toyota’s Grand Highlander and Crown sedans use the same Hybrid Max engine. Did you know that the SUV is only the brand’s second model to have the “Beyond Zero” badge? One choice is the new Prius.

Hybrid Max, please.

One way to find the 362-hp version of the Grand Highlander is to look for a small badge that says “Hybrid Max” on the rear liftgate. If you can’t see well or get close enough, look for a set of dual exhausts. That’s a huge warning sign.

Design of Upholstery

You can only get a Grand Highlander with faux-suede seat inserts and leather upholstery with bronze accents in one way. How could this be true? To get the Hybrid Max drivetrain, you must buy the most expensive Platinum trim, which is also the most costly.

Digital gauges in large sizes

Fully digital gauges are very popular right now. Standard on the Grand Highlander XLE is a 7.0-inch display and analog gauges. On the other hand, the Limited and Platinum trims have this massive 12.3-inch digital cluster. As was to be expected, it is possible to set it up.

Hallelujah! Problems with the body

Toyota hasn’t lost its way, unlike some other car companies, so the Grand Highlander still comes with many physical knobs and buttons. Think about the excellent volume control on the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen and the giant knobs for adjusting the temperature.

Almost Lexus-like Almost

The Grand Highlander isn’t meant to compete with Lexus in the high-end market, but the Platinum model we saw in person had a very nice interior. Many of the surfaces are soft to the touch, and the plastics used have a consistent, smooth grain, lovely trim pieces, and shiny finishes. Even if it’s not the same as a Lexus, it’s close.

The second row of seats has vents.

The Grand Highlander and its minor brother or sister have much in common. But only the Grand has captain’s chairs in the second row that are heated and cooled. In the second row of a standard Highlander, you can warm your buns but can’t cool them. The top-of-the-line Grand Highlander Platinum is the only model that has this luxury.

Beautiful Console Cover That Slides

Most new cars have a center console with a cover that opens. The Grand Highlander is not it. It has a top that slides open, like the Highlander model, so you can get to the bin from either side without getting in the way of the armrest.

In the third row, there are:

The third row of the Grand Highlander feels much roomier than the third row of the regular Highlander. The USB-C ports and side bins with room for at least two cups and a smartphone will be great for people sitting on the outside.
