• Automotive News says that the base model of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro now starts at $61,869, which is $4000 more than before.
  • When it came out for the 2022 model year, the electric F-150 Pro started at $41,769. This means that its MSRP has gone up by about $20,000.
  • Ford says that “current material costs, market factors, and supply chain constraints” are to blame for the price hikes.

When will Ford stop making the F-150 Lightning cost more? If things stay the same, the electric pickup truck will cost even more. The F-150 EV’s base MSRP has increased by about $20,000 since it came out for the 2022 model year, from $41,769 to $61,869.

Even though there were several steps up between then and now, the difference is still shocking, especially since it all happened in a single model year. Ford has raised the price of the Lightning four times since August 2022. Automotive News was the first to report the most recent price hike. The entry-level Pro is now $4000 more expensive, going from $57,869 to $61,869.

Prices are also slightly higher for the other three 2023 F-150 Lightning models. The base MSRPs for the Lariat and Platinum go up by $1500 and $1200, respectively, but the XLT with a standard-range battery only goes up by $175.

AN says that Ford says the price increases are due to “current material costs, market factors, and supply chain constraints.” Ford has yet to respond to Car and Driver’s request for comment, but it has previously agreed that price increases for the Lightning were fair.

Ford stopped making F-150 Lightnings for a few weeks because of a problem with the batteries, which has since been fixed. The company announced that it would triple F-150 Lightning production this year. How much will the company raise the truck’s price in 2023? Keep coming back to see what’s new.
