Subaru has shown off the new 2024 Crosstrek for the American market. Like the last model, it comes with a 2.0-liter engine with 152 horsepower and a 2.5-liter engine with 182 horsepower as an option. It will be for sale this spring, starting at $26,290 and going as high as $32,190. The third generation of popular Subaru’s Crosstrek has much of what we’ve come to expect from this lowered Impreza hatchback. The 2024 model has the same engines and exterior design, but Subaru says it has a stiffer chassis and more standard features. The only difference from the last model is that the manual transmission has been taken out, leaving only the CVT. Because of this, the base price goes up from $24,870 to $26,290, but the base model with an automatic transmission stays the same. You can choose between the base, Premium, Sport, and Limited trim levels. Like the old Crosstrek, the bottom two trims have a 2.0-liter flat-four engine with 152 horsepower. On the other hand, the $30,290 Sport and $32,190 Limited have a 2.5-liter flat-four engine with 182 horsepower. All models come with a CVT and all-wheel drive as standard features. Subaru says that the X-Mode off-road driving mode gives the car more capability and that the AWD system has been improved to be more responsive. The Sport has yellow accents inside and out for more color contrast, while the Crosstrek has a similar shape but looks more rugged with more black plastic body cladding. The Crosstrek has a clearance of 8.7 inches and comes with 17-inch wheels as standard. You have the option of getting wheels that are 18 inches in diameter. Standard is a 7.0-inch touchscreen, but all models have the 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen with all Subarus. All trim levels of a Subaru come standard with EyeSight features that help the driver. Subaru’s plant in Indiana will now make 2.5L Crosstreks, while the plant in Japan will still make 2.0L cars. The Crosstrek plug-in hybrid is the same as it was before. Subaru says that the brand-new 2024 Crosstrek will be in stores this spring.
