The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox’s fourth version has sheet metal that looks more like a truck and is boxier. Plus, it comes with a digital gauge cluster screen and an 11.3-inch touchscreen entertainment system. The turbo four-cylinder engine in the Equinox has more room to breathe, and an eight-speed automatic transmission, or CVT, has replaced the six-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet Equinoxes now come with both battery and gas engines. The gas engine will get a full redesign in 2025, just like the spring and fall equinoxes. If you think the fourth-generation Equinox will look like the brand-new Equinox EV for 2024, you should cancel your trip to Vegas. The only thing these two models have in common is that they both have the same name and cast shadows that look a lot alike. There are new trims and transmissions for the 2025 Equinox The 2025 Equinox is more like the gas-powered Equinox than it is like the electric Equinox. This has the same chassis as the last SUV and the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 175 horsepower. Chevrolet says that these used parts have been improved, but we have yet to determine what that means. The engine now works with a continuously variable automatic gear (CVT) in front-drive cars and an eight-speed automatic in all-wheel-drive Equinoxes. A six-speed automatic gear used to be paired with the engine. When you add all-wheel drive, the torque goes up to 203 lb-ft. Front-wheel-drive cars, on the other hand, can only have 184 lb-ft of power. The base LS trim level and the top-of-the-line Premier trim level are no longer offered. Instead, the 2025 Equinox comes in just three styles: LT, RS, and Activ. The second one is new to the Equinox lineup. It has a unique front end, a white roof that can be added as an option, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires that are special to each trim level. The Activ is mostly a style package, so even with its tires, it won’t be able to go off-road. If you want an Equinox with the Z71 trim that doesn’t mind getting dirty, you’ll have to settle for something less trendy. Like the Activ, the Equinox RS has a unique front end. RS is different from the rest of the Equinox line because it has 20-inch wheels and tires and an available black roof that stands out. The Equinox 2025 has more storage space No matter how it looks, the inside of every 2025 Equinox is a perfect mix of style and usefulness. The leaving SUV’s shifter was placed on the console. A column-mounted shifter replaces it, making the center console much cleaner and giving you a lot more space to store things. All models come with a big 11.3-inch infotainment system and an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster display as standard. They also have comfort and ease features like an adaptive cruise control and heated steering wheel. The 2025 Equinox also still works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, unlike its battery-powered cousin. The Equinox RS and Activ cabins have different colors and accents for the textiles, and the center has a switch for choosing the drive mode. Chevy hasn’t said how much the 2025 Equinox will cost yet, but it will go on sale later this year. The 2025 Equinox will likely cost a few thousand dollars more than the 2024 model, which costs $27,995. This is because the base LS model is no longer offered. The 2025 Equinox may cost about the same as the current Equinox LT, which starts at $30,890.
