In 2026, BMW’s XM lineup will only feature the 738-hp Label version, as the base model has been discontinued. BMW has increased the XM’s top charging speed from 7.4 kilowatts to 11 kilowatts, allowing for faster charging. BMW is scheduled to begin production of the 2026 XM in August and will introduce a new exterior color option named Frozen Tanzanite Blue. Introduced in 2023, the BMW XM comes equipped with a 644-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain. The even more powerful Label version came out for the 2024 model year. Starting in 2026, the XM lineup will be limited to a single trim, as the base model is being replaced by the 738-horsepower Label version. The 2026 BMW XM will be available in a range of new exterior and interior colors, as well as a faster battery charging rate. As of 2026, there will no longer be an entry-level XM. Instead, all of them will have a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and an electric drive, making 738 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The 4.4-liter engine generates 577 horsepower independently, while the transmission-integrated electric motor contributes an additional 194 horsepower. With its eight-speed automatic gearbox, this beast can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Power is sent to all four wheels. The 644-hp version went from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds in Invoice-pricing’s lab tests. The Label is expected to be much faster than BMW says it will be. The top speed is 155 mph, but with the M Driver’s package, you can reach speeds of up to 175 mph. BMW has added Frozen Tanzanite Blue glossy as a new BMW Individual color and also made the choices better. BMW has also added a new “Welcome Light Animation” that plays when the owner approaches the car and opens it. The 23-inch alloy wheels are now available in jet black. In 2026, BMW Individual will add three new color options for the inside. These two come with “full” Merino leather kits, which means that the soft leather covers almost the whole cabin. Night Blue with Vintage Coffee accents and Black with Vintage Coffee accents are the colors. The last model, Silverstone with black highlights, features an “extended” Merino leather package. This means that leather isn’t used in some places, like the lower dash. Lastly, and this may be the most important change, BMW raised the onboard AC charger from 7.4 kW to 11 kW. This makes it faster for the XM to charge its 26-kWh battery. BMW states that its Spartanburg, South Carolina factory will begin producing cars for the 2026 model year in August. The price will be revealed later. The 2025 XM Label starts at $186,175, and we anticipate prices will increase slightly for the 2026 model year.
