• After unveiling the Kia EV4 at a global event earlier this year, Kia shared U.S.-specific details about the electric sedan during the New York auto show.
  • The EV4 will be available in three trim levels, offering an estimated range of 235 miles for the Light model and approximately 330 miles for the Wind trim.
  • The cabin has two 12.3-inch screens, 64-color ambient lighting, and a normal temperature system with two zones.

The electric Kia EV4 entered production and made its debut at an event in Europe earlier this year. It still has the unique shape of the 2023 EV4 concept. Kia had previously said it wanted to bring the electric car to the US market. Now, at the New York Auto Show, the company has shared new information about the U.S.-ready EV4 before it comes out in early 2026.

The 2026 Kia EV4 Is A One-Of-A-Kind Car That Can Go About 330 Miles

Range of up to 330 miles

The EV4’s design is 400 volts, while the EV6’s is 800 volts. However, it shares the E-GMP platform with cars like the Kia EV6. Kia will offer the EV4 in the US in three trim levels: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. The batteries in the Wind and GT-Line models are 81 kWh, but the batteries in the EV4 Light are only 58 kWh. Two different types of power are used by a 201-hp motor to power the front wheels. Kia states that the EV4 Light will offer a range of 235 miles, while the EV4 Wind will provide a range of 330 miles. The GT-Line type did not get a number.

Kia says that the bodywork’s ability to slide around helps range estimates; a full underbody cover gives a drag coefficient of 0.23. This year, Kia’s EVs are all using the NACS charge connector more and more. The EV4 will be no different. According to Kia, it takes 31 minutes for the 81-kWh battery in the Wind and GT-Line to charge from 10% to 80% on a DC fast charger. The Light model takes 29 minutes.

Kia says that the EV4’s chassis strikes a good mix between providing a smooth ride and “engaging driving dynamics.” Kia’s i-Pedal one-pedal regenerative-braking technology can now be used when the car is in reverse. It also has a memory feature that brings back the last i-Pedal setting when the car starts up again. The EV4’s battery can also power a laptop and other electronics that are connected to it from the outside.

Stylish Vibes and a Contemporary Cabin

The style is the same around the world, but in some parts, the orange side marker lights on the front wheel arches are only available in the US. The EV4 is a unique take on the car shape, with a blunt front end, side windows that curve forward, and a fastback roofline that curves into a torpedo shape. Black wheel rims that look like trapezoids give the car an SUV look.

The GT-Line has 19-inch wheels with the complex geometric pattern shown here. The Light and Wind, on the other hand, will have normal 17-inch wheels that look like discs and are called “aero.” Even though both models use the same battery, the GT-Line’s wheels will probably reduce its range to less than the Wind’s expected 330 miles.

The cabin has a modern yet industrial look, with many different colors and materials that don’t go together. With two 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch temperature panel in the middle, the dashboard lets you use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto hands-free. The Light and Wind models are equipped with a two-spoke steering wheel, whereas the GT-Line models feature a three-spoke steering wheel instead.

The EV4 will have an automated climate control system with two zones and vents for the back seats. It will also have ambient lighting that can be set to 64 different colors to make the interior more interesting. A warm steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, and an acoustic windshield are all options. Kia is promoting a new AI assistant that leverages machine learning to enhance both voice recognition and response times.

The Kia digital key feature will be available on the EV4. This feature lets you use your smartphone to handle remote functions like locking and unlocking doors and adjusting the climate control to ensure the car is at the right temperature when you get inside. The EV4 will also have Highway Driving Assist, a feature that lets you change your speed and stay a safe distance from the car in front of you on the highway. Remote smart parking and forward collision avoidance aid are two other features that can help disabled drivers.

The EV4 will be made at the Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea and will go on sale in the US in the first quarter of 2026. Although Kia hasn’t said for sure, the Light version of the sedan will start at around $39,000, and the GT-Line will cost around $50,000.
