A hatchback variant of the Kia K4 compact is set to arrive in 2026. The 2.0-liter inline-four engine has 147 horsepower, and the 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, which costs extra, has 190 horsepower. In the United States, you’ll be able to buy the 2026 K4 car in late 2025. Even though we’ve heard about the Kia K4 tiny hatchback since the New York car show last year, it has finally been shown to the public. We know everything you need to know about the 2026 K4 car, which will be out later this year. It’s like a sedan, but it can carry more things and is more flexible. When the trunk is removed from the car, the K4 hatchback is 11 inches shorter than its sister. Up until the B-pillar, the style stays the same, but the rooflines change there. This gives people in the hatchback’s backseat more headroom. The trunk space is 22 cubic feet with the seats up and 59 cubic feet with them folded down. That’s a lot more space than the K4 sedan’s 15-cubic-foot trunk and only a few cubic feet less than the Honda Civic hatchback’s. Like the sedan, the K4 hatchback comes with a range of engine choices. The top-of-the-line GT-Line Turbo model has a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine that makes 190 horsepower and an automatic transmission with eight speeds. Lower-level models have a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 147 horsepower and an automatic transmission that changes speeds constantly. The base-engine car comes in a GT-Line version with 18-inch wheels, black trim, and a different steering wheel with paddle shifters that give it a faster look. The GT-Line Turbo has LED headlights, a sunroof, and bigger front brakes. The two GT-Line types have different suspension settings. The dashboard is not very different from the hatchback’s since it has the same center entertainment screen and digital gauge cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard features. Kia hasn’t said for sure what the base price levels will be, but we think they’ll be a mix of the LX, LXS, and EX models for the sedan. Basic driving assistance features include adaptive cruise control and help keep you in your lane. The hatchback should start at around $25,000 and go up to more than $30,000 for a fully loaded GT-Line Turbo. Kia is likely to charge a little more. Kia says that it will be sold in the US in late 2025.
