• You will be able to get the 2026 Ram 1500 with a 395-horsepower Hemi V-8 again.
  • The base Pentastar V-6 engine and the more powerful Hurricane twin-turbo straight-six engine will be paired with the V-8 engine, which Ram says was reintroduced at the request of customers.
  • Orders are now being taken for the Hemi, which costs $1200 for most models. The half-ton trucks will be sent to Ram shops this summer.

Many angry Ram customers followed after the famous Hemi V-8 was discontinued from the market. It likely didn’t help that Ford and GM were still making full-size trucks with eight-cylinder engines. But Ram thinks that customer demand has made it own up to its mistakes, which is why it is bringing the Hemi back from the dead.

The 2026 Ram 1500 Retains Its Six-Cylinder Siblings And Reintroduces Its Hemi

The 5.7-liter V-8 engine is back and better than ever. It’s driven by 48-volt “eTorque” hybrid technology and makes 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The Hurricane is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, while the Pentastar is a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 305 horsepower. The Hemi comes in both standard and high-output variants, delivering either 420 or 550 horsepower.

How will people know there’s a Hemi under the hood besides the sound of a V-8? The “Symbol of Protest Badge” can be found on the front bumpers of the trucks (see picture above). Since Ram is about to release the electric REV and plug-in hybrid Ramcharger, the name seems odd and contradicting, even though the badge is very well designed and shows A ram’s head mounted on the front of a V8 engine block. However, the “Protest” symbol will definitely spark conversation.

Ram says that the new pickups with Hemi engines can now be ordered and will be sent to stores this summer. The Limited and Longhorn will receive the V-8 for free, but the Tradesman, Express, Warlock, Big Horn/Lone Star, and Laramie will have to pay $ 1,200 for it. The Rebel, which can go off-road, will finally get the V-8, but the price hasn’t been set yet.

Of course, some of you are wondering if the V-8 will also come back in the Ram TRX. So far, nothing has been proven. A report from earlier this year, combined with today’s news, suggests that a release is imminent. Plus, Ram’s most recent hint makes it sound like the company will reveal more “big things” on June 8. Watch out.
