The 2026 Toyota Corolla FX Edition hatchback is a nod to the 1987 Corolla FX16 and follows the 2025 FX car. With 18-inch white wheels and a black rear wing, the new FX model has a unique retro look. The cabin is accented with orange stitching and suede seat inserts, while a retro badge is positioned on the rear hatch. The new Toyota Corolla car was introduced in 2020, and the hatchback was introduced in 2019. The popular small car will mostly remain the same after 2026. However, the hatchback version will get an FX Edition that pays tribute to the 1987 Corolla FX16, a fast hatchback that used the MR2’s high-revving 108-hp, 16-valve, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. After this update comes the 2025 Corolla FX sedan, which looks like the FX16 but isn’t as stylish. The Corolla Hatchback FX is built on the SE trim and has a lot of stylish changes to the way it looks. There is also a striking emblem that says “Corolla Special Edition” in an old-style font that looks like the writing on the FX16’s back hatch, as well as a sporty-looking black rear wing that Toyota says makes the car more aerodynamic. A set of 18-inch gloss-white alloy wheels with black lug nuts is the most visually pleasing touch. The Inferno orange paint makes them look beautiful. For the Corolla FX hatchback, you can choose from Blue Crush Metallic and Ice Cap White. The gear shifter, steering wheel, and door panels are all made of orange leather, as are the new black “Sport Touring” seats inside the car. The FX Edition comes with a wireless charger, a 7.0-inch digital gauge panel, and a number of safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Interestingly, the 2025 FX car had a 10.5-inch touchscreen while the 2025 FX hatchback had an 8.0-inch one. The five-door Corolla FX has a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, which is a lot more power than the FX16 it replaces. The drivetrain is the same as other Corolla models, though. To really make this edition stand out, we wish Toyota had made a few more changes to the engine. Toyota is only going to make 1600 Corolla FX Edition hatchbacks for the US market. The cute little car that looks old will be sold at Toyota stores starting in the fall. The FX version will cost about $2,000 more than the SE, based on the cost of the 2025 Corolla FX car. Toyota said that prices for all of the 2026 Corolla models would be released later this year.
