The second version of the Kia Seltos is scheduled for 2027. It has a new platform and bigger dimensions. Kia’s small SUV will first have a 147-hp four-cylinder and a 190-hp turbo-four. There will likely be a hybrid version in the future. We think the 2027 Seltos will start at about $27,000 when it goes on sale later this year, even though we don’t know the exact price. Kia is fine with giving their cars a bold look. The Korean automaker offers a wide range of cars, each with a distinct style. The K4 sedan is the simplest, and the EV9 is an electric SUV with three rows. This is also true for the second version of its well-liked small SUV. The 2026 Kia Seltos, which is being shown around the world for the first time today, looks like one of the brand’s many electric cars. The new Seltos looks sleek with its wide grille, distinctive lighting, and door buttons flush with the doors. Vertical pieces frame the front end and, with the exception of a light bar connecting the taillights, the back end as well. There are five model versions of the SUV: EX, LX, SX, X-Line, and GT-Line. The SUV’s cladding covers its lower body and goes around the wheel openings. From the side, the little Seltos looks inspired by the EV9. Its origami-style body and built-in rear spoiler, which extends the top, look like they were copied from the EV9. The bold look of the flared fenders makes the vehicle’s wider stance more noticeable. Also, the Seltos has gotten bigger. Its length has been increased from 172.6 inches to 174.4 inches, and its wheelbase from 103.5 inches to 105.9 inches. The second-generation Seltos isn’t as tall as the first, but it’s over an inch bigger. Some well-known types are part of the new Seltos’ powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower, mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). There is also an option for a 1.6-liter turbo-4 engine that gets 178 or 190 horsepower. Seltos cars coming to the United States will only be available with the stronger engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The first one comes with a six-speed manual gearbox in some places. You can still get front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, too. A mixed Seltos will likely make it to our shores. Kia has also said it wants to make a new hybrid engine, but no more information has been shared. The second version of the Seltos is built on a new platform called K3. Kia says extensive work has been done to improve NVH, and the SUV’s body is noticeably stiffer. This will make the inside more peaceful and look classier at the same time. Kia’s 30-inch dash-mounted display, which consists of two 12.3-inch panels and a 5-inch panel for climate settings, is available in the 2018 Seltos. The newest infotainment software is on the tech roster. It has an AI voice assistant powered by ChatGPT and can receive updates wirelessly. Like other Kias, the Seltos’s driver’s seat can be turned into a chair with an ottoman. We’re also happy to hear that the Seltos will feature the EV9’s soft-mesh headrests. Also, the seatbacks in the back can be reclined up to 12 degrees. Kia says the cargo hold has 19 cubic feet of space, almost seven cubic feet less than the previous model. But the two-level luggage floor is said to be 3.1 inches longer. The 2027 Kia Seltos will be available worldwide, but US dealers won’t get them until next year. The regular front-wheel-drive car will cost around $27,000, even though the price hasn’t been announced yet. The most costly version will be over $33,000.
