At the Detroit car show, Cadillac showed off the new 2025 Cadillac CT5, which will go on sale in the spring of 2024. The front end of the 2025 CT5 has been changed. It now has a more prominent grille, complicated LED headlights, and two new colors. Inside the CT5 is a 33-inch screen, a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, and Amazon’s Alexa personal helper. With the news that an electric Escalade iQ will join the Lyriq EV in shops next summer, Cadillac is moving toward a future where electric SUVs are the norm. But before it is taken out of production for good, the American luxury car company is working hard to update its long-running gasoline-powered CT5 vehicle. Today at the Detroit car show, the 2025 CT5 was shown off. It has an entirely new look and a more modern interior with a big 33-inch screen. The new look of the CT5 is similar to that of the just-updated XT4, which is Cadillac’s smallest SUV. Now, the horizontal headlights that squint are linked to the vertical LED parts. The main headlight housing makes a triangle-shaped cutout in the bodywork by fitting between these two LED strips and connecting to a vent below. Blacked-out trim and a black mesh grille are features of CT5 Sport types. The 2025 color scheme now has two new colors: Typhoon Metallic and Deep Space Metallic. The most significant change is a massive 33-inch LED screen across the car’s dash. As seen in the XT4, Lyriq, and gas-powered Escalade, the screen is slightly angled toward the driver and has touch-screen controls on both sides of the steering wheel. The 2025 CT5 stays up-to-date with a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and several Google apps, like Maps and Assistant, that are built into the entertainment system. The speech assistant Alexa from Amazon is also built into the system. In 2025, the CT5 will have more standard driver-assistance features, like automatic emergency braking at intersections and blind zone steering aid, to avoid accidents when switching lanes. General Motors’ hands-free highway drive system, Super Cruise, is now for sale and can also read traffic signs. The powertrains of the CT5 have stayed the same. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine makes 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Even though all-wheel drive is an option and a 10-speed automatic transmission is used to move power, rear-wheel drive is still the usual for the CT5. Beginning in the spring of 2024, the 2025 CT5 will be put together in Lansing Grand River, Michigan. Even though Cadillac said it wouldn’t, the starting price of the 2017 CT5 is likely to be more than $40,000. Cadillac also hinted that new fast CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing versions might be coming out.
