The newest car in the Optiq line is the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V, which is also the most luxurious model in the line. It features the same dual-motor setup as the larger Lyriq-V, but its output is slightly lower (519 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque). When it launches this fall, the Optiq-V will be priced at $68,795. When the 2026 Optiq-V is released, it will be the second electric vehicle that Cadillac produces with the V badge. The brand’s small electric SUV is undergoing a V-series makeover, which will give it a more aggressive look and significantly improved performance. By historical standards, the non-V Optiq is a fast and small car. It should take 5.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour. However, the 300-horsepower arrangement of the two motors doesn’t get people excited as the use of electric vehicles grows and our inner ears set new speed standards. This is fixed on paper by the Optiq-V. Both the Optiq-V and the bigger Lyriq-V have dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Optiq uses a smaller battery, limiting its output to 519 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, compared to the Lyriq’s 615 horsepower. According to Cadillac, the new powertrain enables a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds. Adding 219 ponies to the equation leads to a smaller range than the non-V, which is not what you want. Cadillac estimates that the 85.0-kWh battery pack will provide a range of 275 miles, which is 25 miles less than the standard model. Cadillac says that even though it is fast going straight, it can do more than one thing well. Alex Doss, the chief engineer of the Optiq-V, told reporters in a video call that GM designed the performance model to be a true canyon carver. This comes with Brembo six-piston front brakes, retuned suspension, and Continental Sport Contact 6 summer tires. The V is different from the regular Optiq because it features a distinct front end and a faux grille with a V-shaped design. Every part of the inside of the Optiq-V is royal blue, from the dashboard to the seatbacks and seatbelts. The Optiq-V will feature quicker charging times and will be the first GM vehicle equipped with a native NACS charging port. This will enable it to connect to Tesla’s extensive network of Superchargers. Cadillac plans to start making cars and sell them this fall. The cost to purchase the new Speed Optiq will be $68,795 when it becomes available.
