• Late in 2025, the updated Chevy Tahoe and Suburban will start coming out in stores.
  • There are some small changes to the outside of the full-size three-row SUVs, as well as a new dashboard with a standard 17.7-inch tablet.
  • The 5.3- and 6.2-liter V-8 engines are still available, but the diesel inline-six gets a big boost, now making 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

Full-size three-row SUVs are still making money, even though Chevrolet’s Silverado pickup trucks and Equinox cars sell more than Tahoes and Suburbans. When added together, they sell more than any other Chevy product and makeup 40% of the market, according to the company. The brothers got a facelift in 2025 that included a reworked diesel engine, small changes to the outside, and big changes to the inside. There will be trim levels Premier, High Country, Z71, LT, RST, and LS.

The Chevy Suburban and Tahoe will have nicer cabins and stronger diesel engines by 2025

A Different View

Style changes are a little small. The main unit of the LED daytime running lights has been moved lower in the trunk and is now on top of the headlights. The Premier and High Country models have more angular taillights and show an animation of lights when the driver approaches and leaves the SUV. A new color is Cypress Gray, and Lakeshore Blue is shiny. Also, the grilles look different now. Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires, a stronger front bumper with a wider approach angle, a skid plate, and red tow hooks make the Z71 stand out.

The house is the real center of attention. From a row of buttons on the dashboard to a stalk on the column, the gear-selector switches have been moved. This makes room for the new standard 17.7-inch tablet, which is the same size as screens in other new Chevrolet cars and is slightly tilted toward the driver. Along with this screen, a normal 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster has been added, and the whole instrument panel has been dropped to make it easier to see outward and make it look like there is more airflow.

Thinner air vents have been added to the middle stack to match the clean new screens. There are still a lot of buttons, but they are all grouped under the vents and surrounded by knobs for controlling the temperature. On the inside, Premier models have Sky Cool Gray and Jet Black stitching, while RST models have Victory Red stitching. The High Country model gets real wood trim and leather seats, which are firsts for both the Tahoe and the Suburban. It also has a unique Jet Black and Mocha color scheme.

More Power

Chevy now offers a 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax diesel engine that is much better than before. The six-cylinder engine makes 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque when paired with a 10-speed automatic gear. This is more than the 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque that came from the previous Tahoe and Suburban. The diesel engine is offered across the board, and the off-road Z71 will be the first car to use it in 2025.

The 5.3-liter V-8 engine that runs on gas is still standard on the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier. It makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The High Country comes with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The RST, Z71, and Premier can choose not to have one. Both the Tahoe and the Suburban can still pull up to 8400 pounds and 8200 pounds, respectively. A trailer tire health monitor, a boat ramp help feature, and a navigation choice just for towing are some of the new features that can help with towing. There is also a new forward path indicator that shows the trailer and SUV’s predicted turning route.

Chevy says that the steering tuning has been changed to give better feedback, and the suspension has been tweaked to make the ride smoother. For the first time, the RST, High Country, and Z71 trims come with air suspension. In addition, GM’s adaptive suspensions are back. The Premier and High Country come with them as standard, while the RST and Z71 can have them as an extra. They can be used with either regular coil-overs or air suspension. The RST and High Country can now come with 24-inch wheels, which is another first. There are nine new wheel designs, and eleven more variations that were offered in 2024 are still available.

SUVs that come in handy

One of the best safety features of the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is GM’s hands-free driving system, Super Cruise. This system is available as an option on the LT, RST, Premier, and High Country models. A new motion detector inside the SUVs helps make sure that no one gets left behind in the back seats. It will send you a text message or sound the horn if the early warnings don’t get your attention. There is also a proximity liftgate that opens itself after you use the key and stand close to the back of the car for three seconds.

With Chevy’s new Connected Cameras system, owners can use an app to check on their car while they’re not there. The app gives owners a view of the inside of the car to see if anything is missing. If there is an accident, it will also record video from 30 seconds before the accident to 30 seconds after it happens. Both the Tahoe and the Suburban come with emergency brakes and lane keep assist as standard features.

The 70th anniversary of the Arlington Assembly plant in Texas will be celebrated when production starts in late 2024. This is where the improved 2025 Tahoe and Suburban will be built. Even though prices haven’t been released yet, they will not go up by a lot compared to the Tahoe and Suburban. The 2024 Tahoe LS starts at $58,195 for the base model and goes up to $78,895 for the High Country model. The 2024 Suburban LS starts at $61,195, and the 2024 High Country starts at $81,895.
