JAS Motorsport is bringing back the Honda NSX, and the well-known Pininfarina design house will be responsible for its styling. JAS put out new pictures of the amazing NSX rebirth. The rebirth is called “Tensei,” which is the Japanese word for “reincarnation.” Other than the pictures, all we know about the car is that it will have a competition-derived engine and a carbon-fiber body. Who knew that the first NSX would get even more attractive? But most of the work from Pininfarina, the Italian design house behind famous cars like the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and the Alfa Romeo Spider, ends up looking like beautiful art on wheels. Here is what is going on with the “Tensei.” Pininfarina created the Honda NSX, and JAS Motorsport built it. The first JAS supercar is Tensei, a beautiful NSX restomod. The word “tensei” means “reincarnation” in Japanese. If you didn’t know, Honda has had an official race partnership with the Italian business since 1998. At first, it was a work team, but later it grew to include people in technical and customer service roles. It’s now making both the Honda Civic Type R TCR and the NSX GT3 race cars. After years of work in motorsports, it worked with Pininfarina to create this beautiful Honda NSX (the Acura in the US) with a carbon-fiber body. JAS says the goal was to retain the spirit of the original NSX while adding features expected in a racecar today. The business has only said that Tensei would have “cutting-edge technology” and that an engine would be used based on what they know about their rivals. Our friends at Road & Track say that the engine will be a naturally aspirated V-6 with a six-speed manual gearbox. Also, each Tensei will be built around a source car. In the meantime, we can look at these new public pictures while we wait for more details. This NSX restomod is great because it stays true to its NSX roots. It keeps all of the things that made it popular in the first place, and the pop-up headlights, big glass, and smoothly integrated back spoiler make it look even better. The mid-mounted engine draws air from more visible openings, such as a large front air intake that runs through the hood. The car’s big wheels and front fenders fill the arches, making it look more powerful. There are two A-shaped exhaust outlets on the rear lip, and the NSX’s full-width taillights have been updated to look more up-to-date from the rear.
