Ian Callum, a renowned British car designer, showcased the latest concept from his company: a distinctive take on the Mk5 Mini Sportspack. The handling and brakes on the hatchback have been improved, and it was built with the help of coachbuilders Wood and Pickett. The 1310 cc racing engine in the updated Mini has a rebuilt cylinder head, two-point fuel injection, and a custom-made twin-pipe exhaust. During his work, Ian Callum has made several different cars. He made the Aston Martin DB7 and the Vanquish. The F-Type, the Jaguar XK, and even a road-going version of the C-X75 concept car are in his back files. The new design was made by Callum’s own design company and the coachbuilder Wood & Pickett. Callum’s Wood and Pickett Mini looks wild and lives up to its name. The Mk5 Mini Sportsback serves as the basis for Callum’s Wood and Pickett Mini, transforming the little passenger car into a stylish hot hatch. The old engine has been replaced with a 1310 cc racing engine. Currently, the mill produces 110 brake horsepower. It features a stronger transmission, a special twin-pipe exhaust, two-point fuel injection, and a modified cylinder head to handle the increased power. It no longer resembles its 1990 design; instead, the handle has been altered to give the impression that it was made by someone familiar with the word “frizz” in a phrase. A four-spoke set, made by Callum, has been installed in place of the original wheels. They all have the same 13-inch width. There are 8.4-inch disc brakes with vents and grooves behind the wheels. The interior design appears to have been done by a company called “Wood and Pickett.” The wooden border on the dashboard is based on the walnut panels on the company’s Margrave Mini from the 1960s. The switches for the heater and fog lights are made of metal, as are the gauges and cupholders. The interior feels more modern thanks to a small tablet that allows you to use Apple CarPlay. Callum will make each Wood and Pickett Mini unique based on what the owner wants. The redesigns will start at a little more than $100,000.
