The Kia Concept EV2 Offers a Glimpse of a Future Production Model That May Be Too Small for Our Market. The EV2 looks like a bulldog because it has wide shoulders, short overhangs, and an assertive but cute face. Inside, there are many useful features, such as screens that let you see text messages, portable speakers, and a front bench seat that can be moved around. The Kia Concept EV2 is like a cute dog that we want to adopt, even though its name is jumbled. Because it is so small, it probably won’t be able to make it to the US, so we will have to sneak it out of the rescue center. Of course, you’ll be able to buy a production version of the small electric SUV in 2026. Kia’s EV2: The Most Compact Electric Vehicle Ever The EV2 idea is like Kia’s answer to the Hyundai Inster, which is also a small, strange SUV that isn’t sold in this country. The EV2’s electric drivetrain isn’t clear, but we think the final model will be based on the Inster’s design, which has a bigger (lol) 49.0-kWh battery that makes 113 horsepower and 108 pound-feet of torque. It means that the Inster or EV2 has a range of about 187 miles, which is something that American drivers would definitely think is gross. The EV2 is Kia’s smallest electric vehicle, but it looks exactly like its bigger siblings. For example, its vertical front lighting parts look a lot like those on the EV9 three-row SUV and the soon-to-be-released EV4. The EV2 also has what Kia calls “Star Map” lighting, which is made up of lit spots on the front of the car’s flat surface. The geometric forms on the wheel arches and glass help to keep the flow going. The EV2 concept is different from its peers because it doesn’t have a center pillar or rear-hinged back doors, which are also called coach doors. While we don’t think these design elements will be used in production, we still think they’re cool. The inside of the Concept EV2 might be the most beautiful thing about it. To put it simply, the EV2 is messing with our minds because we love front bench seats. The track-mounted front bench is another interesting new feature. It lets people slide it back and fold the back seats out of the way to make room on the level floor for sitting or stretching. We don’t know how realistic the second scenario will be for many people taller than six feet, but Kia thinks it’s possible. Most new Kia cars would look great with a touchscreen on the dashboard that looks like a computer. The idea also has a unique steering wheel that looks like it was baked in an oven. The cloth on the dashboard looks like it was based on the BMW iX, which we like. The bottom half of the dashboard has a metal surface that is a strange color. Kia says that the EV2’s moveable speakers make it easy to make car singing a mobile event. Message lighting, which shows text messages through windows, is another interesting idea. It might be too long to say, “Hey Kia, why don’t you sell cool stuff like the EV2 in America?”
