As the last 2023 Chrysler 300 is being put together at the company’s plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Mopar fans and people all over the country are crying. The last 300s will be made for the current model on December 31, 2023. This will be the end of a Mopar fan favorite. Before the 300 made its last showing, Chrysler said goodbye to the last 300C with a Hemi engine. The latest Chrysler 300 has been around since 2014, which is more than ten years ago. It looks like that’s also the case. Even though the 300 still looks good, especially when compared to newer competitors like the Cadillac CT5 and Lexus ES, it is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The 300 still had a cool attitude even though there were cars that were faster, smarter, and younger. In 2022, Chrysler made the 300C a special edition type of the 300 to honor the Hemi V8-powered 300C from the 1950s. On December 8, the last 300C to leave the factory was a Velvet Red 300C with black Laguna leather seats and Chrysler’s 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine. The V8 engine gives the big beast 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, which speeds it up to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The suspension can be changed, the rear gear has a 3.09 ratio, and the brakes have four pistons and red calipers from Brembo. Twelve hours after Chrysler announced the limited edition 300C, all 2,200 cars had been claimed. Two thousand were for the US, and two hundred were for Canada. What will happen next? Once the 300 is taken out, Chrysler will be able to afford the Pacifica minivan. Until then, its shelves are empty. Still, an electric car will take the place of the 300 in the future. “As part of the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, we’re excited to work together as the Chrysler brand moves forward to a sustainable all-electric future,” said Chris Feuell, CEO of Chrysler Automobiles, “as we celebrate the last Hemi-powered 300C off the line with our Brampton team members.” If Chrysler decides to make a new 300, it should look just as tough as the old one. But people will miss the noise of the Hemi V8.
