Frank Stephenson, who designed the original McLaren P1, is revising his concept to create a unique McLaren P1 Evolution. The car in question is being built using the McLaren P1 that belonged to YouTuber Freddy “Tavarish” Hernandez, which was damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022. Stephenson will return to the P1 Evo after leaving the car business in 2018. The McLaren P1 didn’t need a major makeover. Boasting 903 horsepower, the hybrid hypercar already looks like something straight out of a George Lucas-inspired fantasy. On the other hand, if something goes wrong and you end up with a hypercar worth more than a million dollars that was defeated by a storm in a water balloon fight, you should redesign it. That’s something Frank Stephenson can help with. He was the first person to create the P1 and many other cars, like the Maserati MC12 and Ferrari F430. A YouTuber named Freddy “Tavarish” Hernadez asked Stephenson to rebuild the wrecked hypercar after Hurricane Ian flooded his personal P1. They have now collaborated to create the McLaren P1 Evo, an enhanced version of Stephenson’s original concept. The car doesn’t look significantly different from what the creator had in mind when they first conceived it. There is a larger lip in front, a huge shark fin, and a new dorsal fin on the back that extends from the lip to the hood and back through the new roof scoop. The update gives the car new doors and beautiful aerodisks on the wheels. It also gets vents added to the front fenders. Stephenson’s website says that the team’s goal is to make the best P1 Evo ever. Stephenson is returning to the auto business after a few years away. The whole project will be documented on Tavarish’s YouTube channel.
