• Pagani planned the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, a convertible variant of the Codalunga, with a release date set for 2022.
  • The Codalunga has an efficient body with an extended tail and an exhaust with six outlets.
  • It features a 6.0-liter V-12 twin-turbo engine that produces 851 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque when paired with a manual transmission.

The Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster, With Its Open Top, Is A Work Of Art

Pagani is still producing new versions of the Huayra, even though it has already begun work on the Utopia. This is similar to what it did with the old Zonda, which it stopped making long after it had started making its replacement. The latest work of rolling art to emerge from San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy, is the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, an open-top version of the long-tail car introduced in 2022.

The only difference between the Speedster and the Codalunga car is that the Speedster doesn’t have a roof. To enhance its aerodynamic appearance, the windshield is lowered, and a prominent grille is positioned above a front splitter that is seamlessly incorporated into the design.  A hardtop roof with a large glass panel fits smoothly over the curved bodywork, protecting the V-12 engine from rain.

The long back end that dips down and then rises at the end to form a small spoiler makes the sleek look stand out. The six-exhaust system includes two hidden outlets within the rear diffuser and four exhaust tips arranged in a square pattern on the upper section. The taillights appear to be floating inside the rear fascia.

The cabin features a lot of hand-stitched leather, solid-milled metal trim, and numerous physical switches, which is typical of Pagani’s designs. The carbon-fiber steering wheel features a mahogany rim with metal rivets, which bring out the old-fashioned, interesting character of the Codalunga. The wood can also be seen on the gear knob, which is connected to a visible connection.

Additionally, embroidery was used to create a fabric that conforms to the shape of the four exhaust pipes, which is then utilized for the seats, door panels, and center dashboard. It is said that each stitched piece has 450,000 separate stitches.

The AMG twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine, which Pagani has utilized for a long time, now produces 852 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, matching the Utopia. An Xtrac seven-speed gearbox connects the engine to the back wheels. This transmission can be operated in either fully manual or automatic mode. This is only the second Huayra to come with a guidebook, after last year’s Huayra Epitome.

Pagani states that the Huayra Codalunga Speedsters are fully compliant for driving worldwide, but production will be limited to just 10 pairs. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.   The Speedster is definitely pricey, although its exact cost is unknown. The Codalunga coupe reportedly started at $7.4 million.
