• Subaru has announced the prices for the 2026 Forester models. One model costs a lot more than the others.
  • Starting prices for the off-road-ready Wilderness model have increased by $ 2,130 since the last model year.
  • The first 26 cars will go on sale this fall. The prices of the Forester’s other models, which aren’t hybrids, will only increase slightly.

The 2025 model year saw the update of the seventh-generation Subaru Forester. However, the off-road-focused Wilderness grade had to wait until then. When it is released in 2026, the new model will cost more than the current one.

The 2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness starts at $39,835. That’s $2,130 more than the 2025 model, which lacked the improved features and style of the new model. The new Wilderness has taller tires and a higher ride height. It also rides on a base that has been changed. Some Forester models have hybrid drives, but this one doesn’t. Instead, the Wilderness has a 2.5-liter flat-four engine with 180 hp, a CVT, and (of course) all-wheel drive.

For people who want to buy a Forester that isn’t equipped for off-roading, prices have remained relatively steady. One type costs $31,445, and the other costs $43,045; the only difference is $ 11,600. The base prices for the Premium, Sport, and Limited trims are $34,835, $37,555, and $39,145, respectively. All models will have lane-keeping assist, blind-spot tracking, and rear cross-traffic warning by 2026.

Subaru hasn’t announced the pricing for the hybrid versions of the 2026 Forester yet. That information should be made public soon, though. The company says that retailers should start getting the first ’26 models this fall.
