• The 2025 Ram ProMaster EV introduces two additional cargo van configurations, featuring either a 12-foot or 13-foot cargo hold.
  • The new cargo setup begins at $58,490, over $20,000 cheaper than the base price of the 2024 step van model, the sole option from last year.
  • The step van now comes with an $8,000 discount, bringing its starting price down to $71,990.

In the very competitive market for electric business vans, Ram released an electric version of its full-size ProMaster last year to compete with the Ford E-Transit, the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, and the Chevrolet BrightDrop. For the 2024 model year, however, the ProMaster EV could only come in one version, which made it much more expensive than its rivals. However, the American truck company is sorry for 2025, has added two new body styles, and has lowered the base price by more than $20,000 to make up for it.

The Ram Promaster Ev Lineup Will Grow In 2025, But The Base Price Will Decrease By $20,000

The 2024 Ram ProMaster EV came in only one type: the Delivery step van. This model had a Super High Roof body, a roll-up rear door, and a sliding pocket door on the passenger’s side. When we drove the ProMaster EV last fall, Ram promised to give customers more options in the future. The company has kept its word and added two new freight models for 2025. The cargo van models will have two body styles, one with a 12-foot cargo length and the other with a 13-foot cargo length. Both will sit on a chassis with a 159.0-inch wheelbase. The pocket door on the delivery model is swapped out for a folding side door on the cargo model.

The most important change is that the base price of the ProMaster EV has gone down significantly for the new cargo van types. The 2024 Delivery model used to cost $79,990, but thanks to the new cargo options, it only costs $58,490. Even better, Ram has cut the price of the Delivery model, which is now called the step van model, by $8,000, from $20,490 to $71,990.

Ram says that the 97.0 kWh battery pack in the electric ProMaster cargo models lets them go up to 164 miles without being charged. In addition, Ram says that the step van’s range in cities has grown from 162 miles the year before to 180 miles by 2025. A DC fast charger can charge the ProMaster EV from 20% to 80% in less than 55 minutes at a maximum rate of 150 kW.

The step van can carry 2876 pounds, which is more than the 2030 pounds that Ram said it would be able to take in 2024. The cargo model can carry 3020 pounds. The front wheels of both models are driven by a single electric motor that makes 268 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque.

Customers can now create and price their ProMaster EV online before buying it at a dealership. The cargo van models will start to appear at dealerships in the second quarter of this year.
