• The 2025 BMW M4 CS’s 3.0-liter straight-six engine now makes 543 horsepower, up from 523 when it was first released.
  • The M4 CS also gets better suspension tuning, a lot of carbon-fiber trim, and carbon bucket seats.
  • The base price of $124,675 is more than $16,000 less than the 2023 M4 CSL.

BMW made the M4 CSL two years ago. It was a special model of their sports coupe made for the track. It had more horsepower and less weight than other versions. The German car company’s next model, the M3 CS, got the same power boost as BMW’s famous sports sedan. The 2025 M4 CS from BMW is being released right now. It is a mid-range model between the M4 Competition and the more extreme CSL.

Behind the grille that blocks glare

The 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo engine in the M4 CS now makes 543 horsepower, up from 523 horsepower in the 2025 M4 Competition xDrive. This is the same amount of power as the M3 CS and M4 CSL. The engine management software was updated, and the highest boost pressure was raised to 30.5 psi so that the output could be raised. There is still a lot of torque, 479 pound-feet. The M4 CS also has special engine mounts that “form a more rigid connection between the engine and the vehicle’s structure” because they have higher spring rates.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox powers the all-wheel-drive system that is biased toward the back wheels. On paper, the CS can only go as fast as 188 mph, but BMW says it can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and from 124 mph to 0 in 11.1 seconds. BMW also claimed a 7:21:99 lap of the 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife course. The M4 CS has two exhaust tips and a titanium back silencer. BMW says that the M4’s exhaust system weighs eight pounds less than the standard M4.

The CS has a carefully tuned frame with updated wheel camber settings and anti-roll bars, as well as a cast aluminum strut brace that makes the car more rigid in the middle. BMW also made changes to the adjustable dampers and electrically assisted steering. It has been programmed with a new stability control system, and the M Dynamic mode changes the levels of involvement to let drivers push the limits.

A second goal of the CS was to make it lighter, which BMW achieved by using a lot of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The front air intakes, side view mirrors, rear diffuser, back spoiler, roof, and hood are all made of this material. It’s also used on the shift paddles on the steering column, the center panel, and other parts of the interior trim. The CS also comes with M Carbon bucket seats that are heated, power-adjustable, and have a lot of support built into them. Sources say that the M4 CS weighs 77 pounds less than the M4 Competition xDrive.

Looking good-looking

The M4 CS is different from other M4 models because it looks more aggressive. The top and hood have obvious carbon-fiber channels, and the car has aerodynamic features like a rear spoiler and front splitter. The open design of the BMW kidney grille is emphasized by sporty red trim and M4 CS badges. This design also helps the car lose weight. The taillights have a complicated design that was first seen on the M4 CSL. The headlights, on the other hand, have parts that light up in yellow instead of the usual white.

You can paint your BMW Individual in either Riviera Blue or Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic (but only on the CS). Sapphire Black Metallic and Brooklyn Grey Metallic are two more colors that can be used. On the other hand, you can paint the M4 CS’s brakes red or black. If you choose the carbon-ceramic package, you can also paint them red or gold. The front wheels are 19 inches, and the back wheels are 20 inches. They come in either a matte Gold Bronze or matte Black color. Their high-performance tires, which are 275/35 in the front and 285/30 in the back, can be changed to race-ready Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

The inside of the CS also has a microsuede-covered three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. The CS and the other 2025 M4s both have a unique curved display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge panel. BMW plans to begin making the 2025 M4 CS in Dingolfing, Germany, in July 2024. The M4 CS will cost around $124,675 to buy, which is about $40K more than the Competition car and $16K less than the 2023 M4 CSL.
