• Many people are interested in the 2026 Ram 1500 pickup truck, which features the new 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine.
  • Ram says that more than 10,000 orders were put in the 24 hours after the V-8 was announced to be back.
  • The Hemi add-on costs an additional $1,200 for most models, and you can now place your order. The trucks are expected to be in stores this summer.

Within The First 24 Hours, Ram Received Nearly 10,000 Requests For Its Hemi 1500 Pickup Trucks

The truck company recently discussed how customers responded when they heard that the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 would return to the 2026 Ram 1500. The company stated in a press release regarding its sales for the second quarter that “over 10,000 orders” were placed for a Ram with a Hemi engine within 24 hours of Ram announcing the return of the V-8.

In the time since then, how many more orders has Ram drawn? Ram wouldn’t give us his phone number, but our Road & Track friends called him. Someone from the company just said, “I can say the Hemi orders are very strong.”

To put it into perspective, Ram sold a total of 373,120 pickup trucks last year, covering both light-duty and heavy-duty models. Compared to how Ram has been performing lately, this was a significant drop, although the company attributes it to more than just not having the Hemi option. Now that the V-8 is back, will pickup sales catch up to Ford and GM trucks? Since the Hemi won’t be back in stores until at least the end of the summer, it will take some time to decide on a price.

The Hemi engine is back, and a great new guarantee is on the way. Starting with the 2026 model year, most Ram trucks and vans will come with a new powertrain warranty that lasts 10 years or 100,000 miles. This makes Ram’s pledge the best in the truck business, far superior to what GM and Ford claim they will do.

If you want to be part of the Hemi’s comeback, Ram is more than willing to take your order and include it in the expanding queue. Don’t forget that the 5.7-liter V-8 engine can now be purchased in Ram 1500s for $1,200. The high-output Hurricane has 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque, while the normal output Hurricane inline-six has 410 pound-feet of torque. This engine has 395 horsepower. Still, every V-8-powered Ram 1500 will sound different from the straight-six truck because it comes with a GT Sports exhaust and a “Symbol of Protest” badge on the bumpers.
