You'll Look Twice At The 2026 Nissan Sentra Now That It Has A New Look

For many years, the Nissan Sentra has been a safe purchase, even though it doesn’t look like much. Nissan’s ninth-generation small car undergoes numerous changes that will help it stand out in a market where the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla are also very popular. The 2026 Nissan Sentra boasts numerous cool tech features, and its price is expected to remain competitive. It also looks good with Nissan’s future Murano and Leaf models.

Nissan states that the aerodynamic shape of the redesigned Sentra was designed to reduce fuel consumption. The car’s front end is softer than that of the last model, which is accentuated by a unique grille and headlights that blend to create a sharp look. A new line extends from the headlights to the rear spoiler, making the car appear significantly lower.

In early spy movies, the Sentra appeared to grow larger, but its size has remained relatively consistent from one generation to the next. In fact, the 2026 model’s length has been slightly shortened. Even though its length went from 182. 7 inches to 183. 3 inches, it is now 106. 5 inches, which is less than it was 106. 8 inches.

Nissan added some cool new features to the 2026 Sentra so that it would fit in with the cool kids. All Sentras now feature a 12. 3-inch touchscreen in the center, which is significantly larger than the 8. 0-inch screen on the previous version. The 2019 Sentra’s base S grade only comes with a 7. 0-inch driving display. You will receive a 12. 3-inch digital gauge cluster if you opt for a higher trim level. Similarly, the SV, SR, and SL all feature integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the other hand, the S needs the corded form.

The rest of the Sentra’s cabin doesn’t change much. Additionally, the new cabin retains its own settings for features such as the radio, HVAC system, and heated seats, which are accessible on the panel. A row of haptic buttons is located below the screen, along with air holes that control them.

The latest version of Sentra has unfortunately taken away the feature we liked the least. Like the current model, the 2026 Sentra is equipped with a 2. 0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces a modest 149 horsepower. Our last test Sentra took 9. 2 seconds to reach 60 mph, so the 2019 one will be just as slow.

The CVT is still connected to the four-cylinder engine. Nissan says it will return in 2026 to improve acceleration and make it look more natural. In the US, the SV, SR, and SL trim levels now have a new drive mode called “Sport. ” This mode is designed to make the powertrain more responsive and give the Sentra a more lively appearance.

When compared to the car that came before it, the Sentra may be easier to drive. Nissan states that strengthening the sedan’s single-piece structure will increase the frame’s stiffness by 6%. The ninth-generation Sentra also has a bigger dynamic damper for the steering wheel and new valving for the damper. The bodywork’s smaller holes are also designed to reduce noise.

In the second half of this year, sellers will start getting the new Sentra. Like the fuel economy numbers, Nissan states that official price information won’t be available until shortly before the car goes on sale. It wouldn’t surprise us if the Sentra’s price increased significantly due to the introduction of new technology and the impact of taxes on other products. Still, it will not change much from its starting point of $22,785.
