It stands out with its dynamic rear-wheel-drive chassis and elegant design. You can choose not to have all-wheel drive, and there are two four-cylinder turbocharged engines to pick from. The CT4 is quick as long as you don’t get the base four-cylinder engine. However, its ride quality and interior comfort aren’t as good as those of its European rivals. The hands-free Super Cruise system is helpful, but people should think about the Audi A3, the BMW 2 Series, or the Mercedes-Benz CLA before buying this little Caddy. But the 472-hp CT4-V Blackwing, which we review separately, is a car that people who like fast cars should look into. This CT4 model is one of the best sports cars in the world, and it has won our 10 Best award more than once. What's New? There won’t be many changes in 2025. No other car has these three new colors: Deep Space Metallic (dark gray), Typhoon Metallic (green), and Drift Metallic (light blue). They are all unique to the CT4-V. Along with the new 18-inch wheels, the CT4-V comes with front seats that can be adjusted in eight different ways. Pros and Cons Pros Outstanding driving dynamics. Powerful and quick V-Series Blackwing. Diverse range of powertrains and drivetrains. Cons Lacks sufficient luxury. Does not offer a hybrid option. Has a small trunk. Engine, Transmission, and Performance There are two four-cylinder turbocharged engines that customers can choose from: The CT4-V comes with a 2.7-liter engine as standard and an optional 2.7-liter engine in the Premium Luxury. The base Luxury, mid-range Premium Luxury, and Sport models all have a 2.0-liter engine that makes 237 horsepower. The first one makes 310 horsepower, while the second one makes 325. The 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine has a transmission with ten speeds, while the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has eight speeds. Not many cars in this market have rear-wheel drive, but the CT4 does. This gives it more agility than its rivals. Different cars, like the A3 and the 2-series Gran Coupe, are built on front-drive platforms. All-wheel drive can be added to any form of the CT4. We thought the 10-speed transmission would be more refined, but when we drove the CT4-V, we found it to be sporty, aggressive, and quick. The Caddy’s suspension can handle potholes without bothering passengers, even in its sportiest form. It also handles accurately and comfortably, which any car fan will enjoy. Safety Cadillac comes with a number of driver-assistance systems as standard, but only the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels offer the advanced Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system as an option. The following are important safety features: Most automatic emergency brakes can tell who is on the road. Standard lane exit warning and help staying in your lane. You can drive in two different modes: semi-autonomous and variable cruise control. Internal and External Cargo Capacity Some of the touch points look cheap, but the buttons and switches inside are much easier to use than the mostly touch-sensitive system in the Cadillac ATS. There is still not a lot of room inside, especially in the back, and the materials and textures have not been improved as much as the switchgear. This also goes for the trunk, which can hold up to 10.7 cubic feet of stuff. Some standard and extra comforts and tech features, along with the model’s responsive handling, help to make up for most of its flaws. Fuel Economy and Actual MPG Some of the touch points look cheap, but the buttons and switches inside are much easier to use than the mostly touch-sensitive system in the Cadillac ATS. Infotainment and Connectivity Every CT4 comes with an 8.0-inch tablet for entertainment that runs the newest CUE software. There is an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot and apps for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. Everything in a Cadillac comes with navigation. A normal eight-speaker Bose radio system has been replaced with a 14-speaker system. Range, Charging, and Battery Life The basic engine with a rear-wheel drive made 237 horsepower and could go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds during Invoice Pricing tests. On the other hand, the 2.7-liter engine gained 310 horsepower in only 4.7 seconds. At 4.5 seconds, the fastest CT4-V isn’t much better. Price and How to Choose The CT4-V is the model in the middle of the range, between the less powerful models and the fully loaded, racetrack-ready CT4-V Blackwing. Overall, the regular Cadillac CT4 in Premium Luxury trim makes the best case, but as car fans, we prefer the CT4-V’s sportier suspension, bolder look, stronger brakes, and more horsepower. It has 18-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, front and rear park assist, and a leather interior. These are the only things that are better than the base Luxury. The Technology Package comes with a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, Super Cruise hands-free drive, and ventilated front seats. Premium Luxury also gives you access to these features. Just make sure you pick the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine over the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
