Nissan has announced that the redesigned Ariya SUV will be unveiled for the first time this month at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. The Ariya’s new face resembles that of the 2026 Nissan Leaf. Instead of the patterned grille trim on the old model, it has sharper headlights and a cleaner look. The updated Ariya is unlikely to be offered in the US, as the company discontinued its small EV SUV before the 2026 model year. The Japanese company announced last month that it would discontinue production of the Nissan Ariya, a small electric SUV, for the US market prior to the 2026 model year. This meant that the Ariya would no longer be available in the US. Nissan is already working on a new model for the Japanese market, despite the Ariya no longer being sold in the US and likely not for a while. The SUV will be shown off in all its glory at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo later this month. When it comes to style, the new Ariya was influenced by the 2026 Nissan Leaf, marking a significant change for Nissan’s smallest electric vehicle, which is set to go on sale in the US this fall. A body-color strip has replaced the patterned grille trim piece under the Nissan logo. The Ariya’s new face has a black ribbon connecting the bigger headlights. The lower part of the headlights has three LED lines that face inward and are more V-shaped than before. The front bumper is now simpler because the vents, which were positioned vertically in front of the front wheels, have been removed. The new Ariya still has the strong metal around the wheels and the black roof that stands out, but Nissan hasn’t released any pictures of the back yet. Nissan says the facelift will feature a Google-powered infotainment system and a vehicle-to-load function, which will enable users to power other devices, such as a hair dryer or blender, using the car’s power. However, not much else is known at this time. It is also said that the suspension has been improved and tuned to work better on Japanese roads. It’s unclear whether Nissan plans to reintroduce the Ariya to the US market, but if it does, it may feature a new, more angular design.
