There are more nice things inside modern package cars. Part of the 2019-released third series of RDX cars. The 2025 Acura RDX is one of the cheaper, smaller, luxury crossover SUVs. It has a good mix of style, comfort, and usefulness. The standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive technology make driving more fun. This year, Acura changed the center panel of the SUV to make it more storage-friendly. They also improve the RDX’s grille, wheels, and paint job. The new RDX with the Advance package has a nicer interior, and the navigation screen now shows Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in widescreen mode. There are only two Acura models left that still use the True Touchpad Interface to handle the entertainment system. One of them is the RDX. Acura’s original goal of keeping drivers from getting distracted was a good one, but the touchscreen can be annoying while driving. When you press on the touchscreen, the cursor on the 10.2-inch screen moves to the same spot. However, using a tablet that you are used to will make driving less fun in the same way that hand-eye coordination does. The Amazon Alexa speech command technology in the RDX can help you use the touchpad less. You can also use other well-known digital voice assistants, like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. When you look at it next to its rivals, like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3, the Acura RDX is a good deal. The RDX is one of our top picks in its class and ranks third among small luxury SUVs. The Genesis GV70, which is our top pick, is a little more expensive, though. Check out the Expert Rating below from our test team to learn more about the 2025 RDX. Pros vs Cons Pros Large space for goods and a cabin. The handle turns smoothly. High-end apartment furnishings and materials. Cons The engine only comes in one choice. We need to improve at using fuel. It might be hard to use a touchpad device. Performance How does the RDX drive? Overall, the RDX does a good job. The transmission is good at figuring out which gear to use, and the turbocharged engine makes a lot of power at low rpm, which lets you get around stoplights quickly. In Invoice Pricings’ tests, we got from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds. That’s good, though it’s a little slower than some of the best rivals. The brakes’ steady contact and pleasant feel give you peace of mind. The RDX feels solid as you drive around turns. The all-wheel-drive system makes the RDX more sporty by letting it speed up when coming out of turns. The driving is very well-adjusted. It’s light and easy to move around in parking lots, and it gives you a sense of control by getting firmer as you go faster. Comfort What level of comfort does the RDX offer? The stylish front seats that are both heated and cooled will fit a lot of different drivers well. They also support you so you stay safe when you turn. The suspension does a great job of keeping you comfortable when going on different types of surfaces. The RDX can easily dodge potholes and handle bumps on the road. At freeway speeds, wind noise isn’t too loud, and car noise is cut down well. The engine makes some noise, but it’s never annoying. The climate control system does a great job of keeping the car at a comfortable temperature, but you might be surprised at how much airflow goes to the driver’s hands. Interior How is the inside? Some unusual, if not controversial, thoughts about how things should be done are mixed with nice basic ergonomics in the RDX. The driver might get annoyed by the layout that changes, the touchpad controller for entertainment, and the small buttons for temperature control. The front roof beams are thick, which makes it hard to see when turning corners. The electric springs on the back hatch make it hard to see what’s behind it. There is certainly enough space for both front and back guests. Most drivers should be able to find a comfortable position in the back seat because there is plenty of headroom for people of normal size. Technology How does the tech work? Many people like infotainment devices that use touchpads. However, for people who hate learning new things, the time it takes to get used to the method can be a deal-breaker. Smartphones that run Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come with built-in wireless connection. It’s a big plus that Acura’s suite of driving aids comes standard. In this class, these features are often expensive add-ons. Storage How are things with the storage? Acura is very good at packing cars inside, and the RDX is another example of how well they use the room. With its big cargo area and flexible interior storage options, the RDX makes it easier than it should be to move a lot of stuff. With 31.1 cubic feet of room behind the back seats, the RDX has more storage than most of its competitors. The tiered center console in the front gives you many options. There is enough room for car seats on the large back seat and in the clearly marked car seat mounts. Fuel Economy How much fuel does it use? The total EPA fuel economy for the RDX is 23 mpg, which is less than the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. The RDX we tested got just over 20 mpg on average on our mixed-driving test route, but some fill-ups didn’t reach that number. Value Should you pay that much for the RDX? Luxury SUVs are made to have a lot of features and be well-built. The RDX costs hundreds of dollars less than well-known competitors, even when it’s fully loaded. The RDX is well-built on the inside and out, and its ergonomics and internal design set it apart from similar cars on the market. This is a great deal if you want something different from the usual German luxury box, even though it could be more stylish and useful than others on the market. Wildcard The tech-forward interior will definitely show it, even if the sharply angled shape on the outside doesn’t. The RDX is meant to give you a unique and modern drive experience. There is no doubt that it is the only one of its kind in the small luxury SUV market. Unfortunately, Acura’s Super Performance All-Wheel Drive only really shines when coming out of medium-speed curves, even though it claims to have performance that defies physics. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? The RDX Technology bundle provides the most bang for the buck in terms of features and aesthetics. It has a great sound system and front and back parking sensors, which give you extra peace of mind. The seats are leather. 2025 Acura RDX Video Review
