The new S line Plus option package can now be added to the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. It is part of the fifth version of the A4, which came out in 2017. After the 2025 model year, Audi will no longer make the A4. The A4 is a small luxury car that comes in both sedan and wagon body styles. It sits between the A3 and the A5 in the company’s range. There was a different review of the A4 Allroad wagon. Audi also makes the S4 a sport-tuned model with more power, which was tried separately. For the A4’s last year on the market, Audi has added more features as standard, swapped out the base 40 TFSI engine for the more powerful 45 TFSI, and released a new, attractive S line Plus option package for higher trim levels. When the first Audi A4 was sold in 1996, the company began to do well in the US. As more Americans choose SUVs, Audi has decided that gas-powered cars will have odd numbers and electric models will have even numbers. This is because the company needs more code names for its electric cars. According to the plan, a new Audi A5 will come out in 2026 and replace the present A4 and A5. Audi markets the new 2026 Audi A5 as a sedan, but it will still come in a useful hatchback form. So, unless the smaller A3 is a better fit for you, you should move quickly if you want a classic small three-boxer with a trunk and a four-ring logo on the hood. Normal sedans are becoming less popular, but there are still a few luxury cars that can compete with the Audi A4. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3 Series are the closest rivals among German automakers. The Volvo S60, on the other hand, is still a stylish Swedish car. It is made in the United States for the Acura TLX and Cadillac CT4. It is shipped from Japan for the Lexus IS and South Korea for the Genesis G70. You should be able to easily pick one you like since they are all different. Pros vs Cons Pros The cabin has a stylish design and is exceptionally well-constructed. It offers advanced, user-friendly tech features. The back seat provides ample space for adults. The turbocharged engine delivers impressive acceleration. Cons Insufficient feedback from the steering reduces driver involvement. The transmission is sometimes slow to downshift. Performance What about how the A4 is driven? The 45 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine in our test vehicle delivered an impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds—remarkable for a four-cylinder engine in this class. You get used to the dual-clutch automatic transmission’s sometimes slow responses, but it doesn’t have the positive engagement of, say, the conventional automatic in the competing BMW 3 Series. Taking everything into account, the A4 runs smoothly and quietly. The A4’s brake pedal feels strong, but parking is hard because of the dual-clutch transmission and how quickly the pedal moves when the car is moving slowly. On our test track, the A4 stopped at a good 111 feet at 60 mph. The standard, less gripping all-season tires on our test vehicle should make it take longer to stop compared to the summer performance tires. The A4 is fully capable but also dull at times. It’s especially annoying that the steering doesn’t give you a clear sense of the road or how much grip the car has. You will not find passion here; rather, you will find poise and skill. Of course. Comfort How much comfort does the A4 offer? The front seats are a little firm, but they’re still pretty comfy for long trips. The A4 was quiet on the highway, but we heard more wind and tire noise than we thought we would hear from a car in this class. This could be because other cars have gotten better, but the A4 hasn’t changed since 2017. The unique Germanic stiffness of the suspension ensures a smooth ride and good control of body movements on uneven ground. Interior How’s the interior? The A4’s cabin is stylish and practical, designed with a strong emphasis on technology. When it first appeared, the multifunction digital instrument cluster was innovative. It is still a model device that has numerous features and works with almost no lag. Even while the A4 feels a touch antiquated inside when compared to its more current competitors, it’s difficult to pinpoint specific instances, showing how well this generation has held up over time. The days when the A4 was a modest car in terms of interior space are long gone. With enough space for four large adults, the A4 feels and looks like a midsize car. Furthermore, 6-footers needed help finding headroom in the rear. Thin pillars and lots of glass also improve sight. Technology How’s the technology? Most drivers can easily access the A4’s center MMI touchscreen display, which has a 10.1-inch screen with high-quality graphics and an easy-to-use menu system. There are numerous USB outlets for both front and back passengers, and wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto smartphone compatibility are included. The traditional gauges in our test car were replaced by a fully digital 12.3-inch screen called Audi’s Virtual Cockpit. It looked great and worked well, giving us quick replies and clear graphics. The extra Bang & Olufsen sound system could have been better. We’ve heard better B&O systems in other cars, but the A4’s system didn’t have enough power and clarity to be among the best. Most driving assistance features are standard in every Audi A4. However, to get blind-spot monitoring (Audi’s Side Assist), you have to either upgrade to the Premium Plus trim or add the Convenience package to the Premium trim. Storage How are things with the storage? The A4’s trunk volume is only 12 cubic feet, which is less than many of its competitors. However, it makes up for it with a big trunk opening and useful cutouts for longer items like golf clubs or extra storage. The 40/20/40-folding back seats make it easier to change things up. The A4’s interior could use some work, but it’s good enough for storing personal things. The strangely small and square bin in front of the shift lever will fit your phone, but it could be a better fit. The bin under the center armrest is also very narrow. If you have a kid safety seat, there is enough room. The A4 has more front passenger room than I thought it would when a car seat is installed, but the front seatbacks will still touch a rear-facing child seat. You could actually carry a small person along with four people. Fuel Economy How much fuel does it use? The EPA says the A4 45 TFSI, which is less powerful, will get 26 mpg on the highway. Even though some of the roads we tested were very rough in canyons, we still got 28 mpg on our real-world, highway-heavy test route. That’s a good score for a luxury car. Value Are you getting a good price on the A4? Even though it comes from Germany, the A4 is useful. It usually comes with more features for the same price as its German rivals, though its non-German rivals sometimes have a different sense of business-class quality. Audi’s powertrain and bumper-to-bumper guarantees are the best in their class, covering four years and 50,000 miles. Wildcard The Audi A4 is very powerful. It’s impressive how lively it is as a whole, and you can speed down a back road with confidence. Is it fun, though? Overall, it doesn’t have as many curves as the best sports cars. With that said, the A4 is a lot of fun to drive in general, not just for racing. The fact that the current A4 is still a strong competitor after more than ten years on the market shows how good it is in basic ways. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? The A4 Premium Plus comes standard with many great features. If you want a sportier look with unique details, add the new S Line Plus option package. 2025 Audi A4 Video Review
