2025 Audi Q7 Overview

What’s new:

  • Changed style.
  • The navigation system now has better features.
  • Part of the Q7 generation II, which was first shown in 2017.

Few people know about the 2025 Audi Q7 as a medium luxury SUV, but you should still think about it. The Q7 is a great example of a simple, beautiful German car. It has a smart interior with three rows of seats and a choice of powertrains. Being behind the wheel is also a lot of pleasure. The small style changes and improvements to the infotainment system this year will make the old SUV last longer, but they need to fix the Q7’s problems with easy access to cargo space or third-row passenger space.

Even though Audi has yet to redesign the Q7 since 2017 completely, the SUV still needs to be made better. Audi has changed the Q7’s front and back ends this year. It also has new wheel choices and cutting-edge digital OLED lighting. You can also pick from a number of new paint colors and trims for the inside. All of the changes make the Q7 more attractive and special. The only other thing that’s different about the 2025 Q7 is the entertainment system. The Audi App Store lets you add popular apps to your system, such as Spotify, YouTube, and more. From now until 2025, Audi will also be offering free trial memberships for a number of connected services, such as its unique Traffic Light Information system, online navigation, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

There are other medium luxury SUVs on the market, but the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5 are the best ones. You can add a third-row seat to a BMW or Mercedes, but Audi doesn’t come with a plug-in hybrid engine. Another three-row competitor is the Volvo XC90, which comes as a PHEV. It would help if you thought about the Acura MDX, the Genesis GV80, the Lexus TX, and the Lincoln Aviator.

Pros

  • Excellent building and materials inside.
  • Different built-in or add-on tech features.
  • It’s a good mix of quick driving and a smooth ride.

Cons

  • Not as much space for goods as some of its rivals.
  • The seats in the third row are close together.
  • It can be not very pleasant to use the entertainment system.

How does the engine in the Q7 work? The V6-powered Q7 is one of the fastest non-performance cars in its class. It took us 5.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. When you speed up quickly and easily, whether you’re at a stoplight or on the freeway, there is no drama. Even so, the throttle reaction is a little slow when the transmission is in Comfort mode unless you press down hard on the accelerator.

The Q7’s turning circle is bigger than it needs to be. Besides that, the rest of its dynamic qualities are really great. The stopping is perfect, the shifts are hard to tell apart, and there is no body roll so that you can go around corners at a decent speed.

How does it feel to be in the Q7? It is one of the most comfy cars in its class. There is no noise from the road or wind, and the four-zone temperature control system works well to move air around the first and second rows. Since there are no vents in the third row, people sitting there must work with people in the second row to make sure there is enough airflow. The seat heating and cooling systems work, even though they could be stronger.

Even in the most expensive Prestige trim, the front seats are supportive and comfortable for long trips. It’s just a shame that there are only eight ways to change them. At least give us a leg cushion that can be stretched out! The Q7’s factory suspension makes the ride smooth and comfy. We are surprised that we like the quieter ride better with the available air suspension update.

How is the state of the inside? To what extent do you have a command of the usage of technology? If you said “not very,” the Audi’s dual-touchscreen navigation system might be hard to understand. The complex menu system and system can be hard to use because they need a lot of attention to work right, even though there are many ways to enter data.

There are better things about the Q7’s cabin than this one. There is a lot of space in front, to the sides, and behind you from where you sit. The third row is only for kids, but the first and second rows are pretty big. The third row’s seat system makes it hard to get in, but the front and back doors make it easy to get to those seats.

What’s wrong with the tech? The Q7’s user interface is clear and interesting and reacts quickly to user inputs, but the dual touchscreen can be hard to use at times. While not as good as the voice settings on the newest Mercedes and BMW systems, the ones on this one are still great. Almost all of the Q7’s safety measures come as standard and work well.

What’s going on with storage? It can hold up to 69.6 cubic feet of stuff when all three rows are folded up, and 14.2 cubic feet of space is available under the third row. These numbers show the average for the class. The available air suspension, which raises and lowers the back end, makes it easier to load and unload cargo. The ability to power-fold the third-row seats is useful no matter where the second-row seats are placed. It’s easy to store things inside, but the biggest storage spaces are in the door pockets.

There are three sets of child safety seat pins in the second row and two sets in the third row, which is unusual for cars in this class and gives parents many options for where to put their kids’ seats. Audi says that the V6-powered Q7 can pull up to 7,700 pounds when the optional tow package is added, which is enough for most leisure trailers. The engine with four cylinders can hold up to 4,400 pounds.

How much fuel does it use? The EPA says the V6-powered Q7 will get 20 mpg overall (18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway). Even though these estimates are low for the class, we found that they make sense in real life. On our 115-mile test trip, we drove on both highways and city streets, and on average, we got 21 mpg. Competitors often get less than one mpg more than they expected on our test run.

Should you pay that much for the Q7? The Q7 has a nice set of basic functions and costs about the same as those of its German rivals. Cheaper types can be useful, but the Prestige, the car we tested, was too expensive for what it had to offer. As you would expect from Audi, the Q7’s interior is beautifully designed and made of high-quality materials.

The general warranty and the powertrain warranty both cover four years or 50,000 kilometers. You can drive as many miles as you want, and you can get roadside help for four years. This is how things are done in the area.

The Audi Q7 shows that you can enjoy driving and get your family where they need to go at the same time. When Audi first released this old SUV, it set a high standard. It has yet to be changed since 2017, but it still looks current and performs better than the competition.

If you can avoid it, the Premium Plus trim has a great Bang & Olufsen music system. If not, we suggest you choose the Premium trim. With the money you save, you can buy the more fun Q7 55 turbocharged V6. By adding the bigger 20-inch wheels and the Convenience package, the Audi Q7 55 Premium becomes less expensive than Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
