One option that fits your needs and wants is the 2024 Buick Enclave, a three-row crossover SUV that is roomy, stylish, and high-tech. The second-generation Enclave has an old-fashioned look, but it is one of the roomiest cars in its class and can fit both people and their stuff. It has a reliable V6 engine that makes a lot of power and, in our tests, good gas mileage. Even though it’s not a very smart SUV, it does have the entertainment and safety features you’ll probably need the most. The Enclave isn’t a good deal in lower trim levels because it’s too expensive compared to other luxury cars when it comes to all the options.

One secret good thing about the Buick Enclave is that it has a big interior. The big trunk space in the Enclave is great for the front and back rows, and the seats are supportive and comfy. The third-row seat is bigger than some of the other seats, but it’s less comfortable than some similar models. The Enclave also has a smooth, quiet ride and a lot of room for cargo. Taking everything into account, the Buick Enclave is a great car for family road trips.

Reports say that the 2025 Buick Enclave may be getting a new look soon. It is expected to have a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, the newest technology from General Motors, and updates that make it more in line with its high price. If you really need a car right away, look at the revised GMC Acadia twins or the Chevrolet Traverse. They are about the same size as the new 2025 Enclave. In what way does the Enclave move? Driving the Buick Enclave is like driving any other three-row crossover SUV. The 7.5-second time our all-wheel-drive Avenir test car took to go from 0 to 60 mph was typical for its class, and the 3.6-liter V6 engine has plenty of power. (A model with front-wheel drive reached 60 mph in 7.0 seconds, which is much better.) And even though the brakes are smooth and easy to use, it took 136 feet to stop from 60 mph. When going slowly, the steering is light, but when going fast, it’s heavy. This is because the handling is very stable at high speeds.

These notes will help you learn. When we turned tight corners, the adaptive dampers on our test car kept the Enclave level. Besides that, the transmission worked great; it shifted smoothly and always seemed to be in the right gear.

How warm and cozy is the Enclave? Most three-row SUVs, like the Enclave, have pretty nice seats in the first two rows. The chairs are nicely padded, even though the leather is a bit rough. All trim levels except the base model come with a basic massage option. Every person in the car has very comfortable seats and armrests. It’s nice that every row has air vents, and the devices that heat and cool the seats work well.

Without the optional adaptive suspension, the Enclave has a great ride, and the passenger is well-insulated from noise from outside.

How is the state of the inside? The Enclave’s house is very simple, which makes it easy to use but also very dull. The cabin is very comfy because there is so much room, and the captain’s chairs in the second row can be slid out of the way. Because the Enclave has a low sitting height, it’s easy to get into and out of the first and second rows. It’s pretty easy to get into the third row, but only the second-row seat on the passenger side has an easy-release device. The system is missing from the driver’s side seat for some reason. The Volkswagen Atlas and Kia Telluride are better for adults, even though the third row has enough seats.

From the front, it’s easy to see, but from the back, the high window sill makes it hard to see. The extra camera system that gives you a bird’s-eye view helps you avoid fixed objects when you’re parking or moving out of the spot.

What’s wrong with the tech? The Enclave comes with six USB ports, a wireless charge pad, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This means that even the base model has more ways to connect your phone than most other three-row SUVs. The navigation system is easy to use, even though the graphics look a bit old, and the optional Bose music system has good bass and clear sound.

Every Enclave comes with a full set of driving assistance features, such as blind-spot monitoring and a smart safety alert seat that vibrates when safety features are turned on. The range of trims makes adaptive cruise control easier to use, and it does a good job. The only technological flaw is the voice directions. Almost all requests in our test car needed more than one input before the system could understand them.

What’s going on with storage? If you need a lot of room for cargo, the Enclave is the best car in its class. The figures show that the cargo area is huge, with 23.6 cubic feet of space behind the back seats and an amazing 97.4 cubic feet of space when all the rows are folded down. The test car’s third-row seats folded down automatically, which was helpful.

There is a lot of room in the cabin to store small items. The two-tier center armrest bin is the most useful. The extra storage room under the shifter is made possible by Buick’s fully electronic shifter. This is a good size for the car seats. Also, the car seat anchors on either of the captain’s seats are easy to get to, though they are more obvious than they are in some other Buick models.

How much fuel does it use? The all-wheel-drive Enclave we drove should get 20 mpg on the highway and in the city, according to the EPA. That’s a little less than many of its rivals’ SUVs. On our real test route, though, it got 22.4 mpg, which means it should be able to meet the EPA’s estimate when you drive it in real life.

Does the Enclave have any value? The base price of the Enclave is right in the middle of the range for non-luxury and luxury three-row SUVs. It’s worth upgrading to the Buick because it looks better and has slightly more expensive materials, but it doesn’t cost much more than the Chevrolet Traverse. A fully equipped Avenir is a great car, but for not much more money, you can get an Acura MDX with almost the same technology. Most of the time, the Enclave is relatively inexpensive and useful.

The Enclave is a surprise. It comes with a lot of useful features, is very comfortable, and can be used in a lot of different ways. But many people don’t want to buy it, especially at the price being asked, unless they want to switch from a Chevrolet Traverse to something sportier looking.

The best value for money is in the Essence trim level of a Buick Enclave. Because there are so many choices, you have more control over how the SUV looks and what features it has. You can change most things about an Enclave Essence to make it fit your needs. This includes the paint colors and wheel styles, as well as the safety and entertainment systems.

Styles of the Buick Enclave
